Gary Trent being back healthy is huge. Also, giving the Connaughton minutes to AJ Green.
Was able to watch recorded version because of stupid blackout rules.
To start, if Giannis isn’t the MVP I don’t know who is. He’s playing arguably the best ball of his career and has really stepped it up defensively.
That was probably the best effort defensively this season and in the first half they played elite defense. A Jax gives you nothing offensively but he really harassed Halliburton and honestly they don’t need him to shoot and score with their other starters on the floor.
I also liked the way Dame Lillard was playing. More pass first and get the ball to open guys versus take the ball up and jack up a quick 3.
The thing that’s worth watching is they now have a couple of good, younger scoring options with Trent Jr. and AJ Green. Green was off shooting but GTJ was locked in and making a bunch of 3s. Green is actually an above average defender as well.
This is more of the team we thought it could be even without Middleton. I still have concerns about teams isolating Lopez or Bobby defensively but IMO if Green and Trent Jr. can give you 20PPG they don’t need Bobby. If they could flip him for another defensive minded wing or big I think they need to consider it.
