As great as this season was the reality is in the final poll we will be no higher than 4th but could be as low as 6th.  This team deserved better. Oh to go back to that final drive vs. O$U.

Depending how these last 3 games go, any of them get crushed there will be a chance to move up.   Close games and she probably stays like it is now.

The 5 above Bucky are pretty good, as is Wisconsin.  Not a whole lot of separation to my eye.  No matter where they end up this was a great season, lots of fun for us fans.

Thanks to all, players coaches, Cavetoad, Boris and Badgers everywhere!

If you believe all the rumors in Madison over the last few days, it sounds like Leonhard is on his way to Florida State.  I sure hope not but many people in Madison are pretty nervous about it.

No.......don’t want him to leave.  Sure hope he doesn’t.

and can I say,  was glad I heard Matt LePay’s announcing instead of these bozo’s, ugh.  Can you say they were so hoping Miami would win the game????  JMHO.

Griese was so bad-Miami was gift wrapped a turnover and 5 no calls in the first half, plus the Miami DBs made contact on all three receiving TDs and all Griese can complain about is Tyndall's grab on the INT-erroneously saying it altered the play---no, the pass was behind the receiver, if anything it would help the receiver break up the play...will take the break, it was the only one in an otherwise home cooked officiated game.

The CFP system or committee is way too political, and reminds me of one of the alphabet soup organizations in boxing and the associated corruption.

That said, at worst, the Badgers should finish no lower than #3. I might even make an argument for #2, as every other team other than the winner will have 2 losses. Of course, whether they do or not.....

Not a Wisky fan and I'm basically pretty neutral about them but I was pulling hard for Bucky to kick the Cane's ass last night. When it comes to college football I absolutely hate anything and everything to do  with either USC or Miami so I'll root for anyone to curb stomp them. I also wanted Bucky to win to keep the B1G undefeated bowl streak going. F Miami and that stupid, "Turnover Chain". Still think it's BS for any bowl team to get a, "home" game but that made the beat down in Miami even sweeter.

Never happen.  National Champ #1, loser #2, Ohio State #3, Badgers 4th at best.  They will never be ranked over O$U in the final poll.

Two great lines from Eric Single's Sports Illustrated column on yesterday's Orange Bowl (the term "unrelenting sameness" is growing on me):

On Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst: "We make jokes about his monolithic public persona to distract ourselves from the sobering reality that Wisconsin as a program will never stop being Wisconsin: sturdy, disciplined, homegrown, efficient."

On Miami coach Mark Richt: "Richt is not the first and won’t be the last to know the unique frustration of losing control in the face of Wisconsin’s unrelenting sameness."

I stole this from a FB friend's page......love it.

Richt and some of his players had some pretty nice things to say about Hornibrook. Pretty clear they didn't expect what they got from either him or the Badger wideouts.

Edit: Here's the piece I read. Miami LB admits the Badger wideouts won the one-on-one battles.

Don't be surprised if Central Florida sneaks above Wisconsin and/or Ohio State. They did beat an SEC team in their bowl (sarcasm intended).

Really good to see TJ Edwards come back.  Van Ginkel to likely replace Dooley but the rest if the LB group will be intact.  The secondary and DE positions will need to be retooled but many of their key guys on defense will return in 2018.

As for the offense,  they lose Fumagali but just about everyone else comes back including all of the OL and WR and RB.  Penniston seems poised to make the next step at TE.

good points all.   I think we'll see Penniston or ?? someone else step up and be "that" TE that we need.   The Defense does worry me a bit, but with Leonhard coming back eases the angst a bit.   Horni needs to keep getting better and more consistent.  He added the bulk this past off-season, so maybe he'll add some speed this coming off-season (and better accuracy?).

But we all know that when an $EC team loses it is because they were playing in a meaningless game and have been simply worn out from playing in the SEC (heavy sarcasm)

It will be interesting how much respect UW gets in the first poll next year.

Eff Wisconsin, throw UCF a bone. LOL hilarious

The Badgers would beat any one of the 6 teams in front of them.

Blowing 1 game vs. O$U, then crushing Miami & they drop in ranking. LOL!!

Gotta love the NCAA

At least  the Coaches Poll has some integrity.   UCF getting 4 1st place votes in the AP Poll is redonkulous. And that is the only reason they are above the Badgers.

My new go to sports talk show on tv, Dan Lebatard, said that UCF SHOULD BE THE NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!! They are UNDEFEATED!!!!! Have really started liking Mr. Lebatard.

I despise the behind-the-scene politics that exists in organizations like the NCAA.
The "Amateur" seems to be forgotten.

Their playoff system seems similar to NASCAR's; if you qualify, you're guaranteed a certain position in the standings regardless of what else happens from that point forward. So anyone in the Final 4 will finish no worse than 4th.

UCF... what a friggin slap in the face. The Badgers would kick their ass. I hope that reminds them that the NCAA won’t respect them unless they destroy their opponents. If they desire a Championship that’s what they must do.
