To be fair, it wasn't all his fault in any of the 3 losses. He did stink at Illinois but the whole outfit did, coaches too. Mertz wasn't going to beat this team. At least not as a freshman.
OSU on this drive looks like a Wisconsin game clinching drive against lesser teams. This is how Purdue/Rutgers/Maryland/NW/Minnesota feel when they paly against us.
