Yeah, I was thinking his return might not be as good as we were hoping for. But, his presence on the field really helped.

Now...onto San Fran and let's hope #21 gets this "D" steam-rolling even better.
NCAA National Champion.
NFL Defensive Player of the Year
Heisman Trophy Winner
Super Bowl Champion
Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Soon to be Hall of Fame Cornerback.

That's a world class trophy case.

I think this could be Woodson's last season. Too many younsters in waiting. After TT re-signed DD for posterity's sake this season, I think TT wont do it twice.

As for Jennings...tough call. He certainly makes the Packers a better team with him on the field. But he may just want to play in Miami with Philbin. Plus, his sister's rank comments probably dont help matters.
He was out for 9 weeks and then on his 1st game back he leads the team in tackles. Just jumps right back in like he never was out. He seemed to make the whole defense play better and more inspired.
Perfect team to make his come back vs. His tackle for loss on Peterson on first drive swung momentum. He's most effective near the line of scrimmage & Vikes did not have the QB or receivers to scheme him into deeper coverage.
Grave Digger thinks Chuck Woodson's Heisman is overrated cry

Clearly having C Wood back in the fold was a big difference on the D. The guy is like having a mad scientist on the field because you aren't going to fool him on playcalls and he always seems to know where the plays are going. More importantly, he brings some attitude and swagger and his tackling last night set the tone
Last night before the game I was going through a shoe box of trading cards from the past. Found a Charles Woodson rookie card that I didn't remember having. I looked at it and thought "this means a lot more now that he is a storied Packer ....not to mention having a Hall of Fame career" .

Charles has become one of my favorite Packers, it's amazing what he brings to the locker room , and intellectually, not to mention being one of the great athletes of our time.
If Charles wins another ring this year it wouldn't surprise me at all if he retired and waited for the Hall of Fame to call in 5 years.

Can't talk about what a great Packer he's been without mentioning all the guy does for his charities. The guy donated $100k of his own money to hurricane sandy victims.

He just lifts that whole D up. Amazing player, still. Such tenacity, no quit in him.

He's our "Ray Lewis"

He's a HOF player. Definitely a difference maker

I still go back to when the Packers signed him and there was a lot of questioning his heart and motives and a number of other things.

The guy is a football player and has done a lot of good things off the field to warrant serious respect.

Reggie White gets a lot of credit (rightfully so) in many of the same circles but Woody might be as good if not better of a signing for the Packers.
Woody has 3 years left on his deal. He'll e a Packer 3 more years unless an injury forces his retirement. The Packers extended his deal for a reason. He can still play. Rod Woodson played 17 years. Woody will too, and just like Rod Woodson, he'll continue to flourish as a S.
@Packerpedia
Woodson: Locker room leader is great, but that ain’t who I am. I’m a football player. I want guys to feel me on the field between the lines.

@Packerpedia
Charles Woodson: "There’s one play that Erik Walden made on the edge when he tackled A.P. -- last week, we didn’t make those tackles."
I love what Woodson brought to the D last night...and what he'll bring these next three games. But....

....it's better to cut ties with a player a year too soon than a year too late. Especially a player making a big salary.
He was beaten badly on one play where it looked like he had coverage, but otherwise I think he did okay. The real test will be when they play SF and Vernon Davis starts running around, along with Gore and Kaepernick. I think last night Woodson was assigned to watch Webb after the first series. I don't think he rushed with as much abandon as he was to keep an eye on Webb to make sure he didn't rip off any big runs. Overall, he did just fine!
Burnett is still the guy that covers center field

Woodson's strength is playing close to the LOS disrupting things and ****ing with the opposing QB

It's amazing the impact he made last night. Minnesota could not get anything going and C-Wood was classic C-Wood. Tackling, blitzing, and just being a general pain in the ass to the opposition
I don't remember people being scolded for that suggestion last year. I think you are trying to create a senerio to pat yourself on the back. Foo agrees with me.
