This thread is about the WORKOUT 💪. DO NOT make it about politics, social injustice warriors or ANY OTHER SUBJECT!

ALL posts about anything OTHER than the workout will be deleted.

I hope I've been crystal clear.

Workout starts at 2 PM LFT. I'm thinking Gutey might be there since the Pack is on a bye

It’s a good thought, but unless he’s going to be an elite player right off the bat with the ball in his hands you’re taking the ball out of the hands of Rodgers, Jones, and Adams. Hill does a lot more than trick plays, so unless CK can return kicks, block, AND run the wildcat I don’t think we will get the same use out of him. If he can return kicks successfully than maybe you get some Josh Cribbs-esque use out of him, otherwise he’s a waste of a roster spot in GB.

There’s a place for him in the NFL on a roster. At the rate Pittsburgh is going through QBs they might need him. Seeing him with Bruce Arians might be fun. They’re going to need a QB.

I don't think anyone will bring him in and use him like Taysom Hill.

He's probably best suited for a role where a really good team's backup is not ready to step in. Let's say Rodgers got dinged up enough to where he can't play for 2-3 games, but is going to ready to come back for the playoffs. Does Kaepernik give you a better chance to win a game in that scenario than Tim Boyle? If he shows that he hasn't declined physically in the workout I think the answer is probably yes. If you are a team like NO and have Bridgewater as a backup you aren't going to be interested.

Of course, Brett Hundley sucked in 9 starts (and most of the game where Rodgers got hurt in 2017) and in those games the Packers went 3-7. There is no question in my mind that Kaepernik would have given them a better chance to win that year and get them into the playoffs until Rodgers could return.

Workout over -- LOL

I guess SOME scouts (Why were the Chiefs there?? Uh-huh...More than just QB) were there but this "workout" was NOT NFL "sponsored"??

Good lord.....guess they can't just give the guy a shot without everyone trying to get the "upper hand"

Not understanding all the commotion about this.  He was a below par QB his last couple of years in league and was replaced as the starter.  I still remember Clay Matthews sacking him and taunting "you ain't Russell Wilson bro."  Add the fact he's been out of the league a couple of years, and probably lost some spring in his legs, I can't see him being effective.

I watched some senior softball recently at the Huntsman World Senior Games which is a big deal here in St.George UT.

in the 65-74 age group, those boys were still jacking the ball pretty damn well. The tip-off on aging is the wheels—they just don’t work so well.

In the 75-85 group, you really could see the loss of upper body strength happen. I still give those dudes credit, they were out there trying.

Tell that to Matt Moore.

I watched some of his "workout" on Facebook (of all things) yesterday.
Totally impressed by the 10's of people there.

I didn't see anything particularly special. He could nail 10-15 yard passes, but not so much on deep balls.

My take is he might be on par with the Ryan Fitzpatricks of the league, but nowhere near the better QBs, not to mention the 'elite' ones.

The Joseph Smith to Brigham Young pass  connection is scintillating!

Reid is an innovator. I’m sure he wanted to see what CK had left and if there’s an opportunity to use his skill. Just like GB though, I’m not sure there’s a package he runs that makes it worth taking the ball away from Mahomes. If CK has Lamar Jackson/Mike Vick speed then that’s different, but he had mid-4.5 speed when he came out 8 years ago, doubt that level of speed is still there.

Bridge water was smart, he took a backup role, showed he still has it, might get a starting spot next year.

kapernick should do the same.  Take any job offered, do the job well, prove himself and hope for better the next year.

from what I understand he was offered a back-up role and turned it down a year or two ago.

Taking a “pay your dues” job also shows your commitment to the game/team.

the other worry about Kap is he might be a prima Donna - showing up every week prepared in case the starter gets hurt, working with the young recivers/dB on routes and coverage would go a long way in the eyes of coaches and changing  the leagues perception that it’s “all about him”.

Stephen A. makes noise just by saying "hello".  The guy cannot utter a sentence without yelling it.

But you gotta admit....his vocabulary is a thesaurus. I think he's fun.

Find Caliendo doing Stephen A. It's excellent 👍
