Alright, you people

Onward and upward. It's Colt week!

reached an injury settlement with safety Chris Banjo, who was on IR with a hamstring issue.

Banjo did pretty well for himself as a former UDFA from SMU. He was a serviceable backup safety and a special teams ace for the .

cut running back Knile Davis via

I can confirm NFL Network report that RB Knile Davis has been released. Probably means GB won’t have to deal a draft pick to KC.

McCarthy says "high side of caution" with Montgomery: "He's doing great. If you asked Ty on Sunday if he wanted to play, he wanted to play."

McCarthy says TE Jared Cook is "getting better" from ankle injury. Doesn't know about practice this week, but he's progressing.

McCarthy perfectly describes injuries: "I like our medical staff as people. I can't stand how much I'm talking to them right now."

McCarthy: "We're not living with Aaron Rodgers running the ball. We'll make that clear now. ... But we need to get our running game going."

McCarthy says Aaron Rodgers' practice Thursday was his best of the season. It carried to game field Sunday.

MM on Rodgers: "The scrutiny is ridiculous. We talk can about opinions, statistics, so forth. I thought he played extremely well yesterday."

MM: "The underdog title, I loved. It was something that surprised me a bit, but I guess it worked out for whoever put that title on us."

McCarthy on : "It is a great group of young men to coach. I love their energy. I love their passion. But we need to get better."

coach Mike McCarthy: "There's definitely a lot of pain in losing. That, to me, is description of growing pains through the season."

A little more detail on Cook:

Packers TE Jared Cook is "making a lot of progress," coach Mike McCarthy said. "He took a big step toward getting back." Still may be a long shot to practice this week but did most extensive rehab on his ankle last week.

GB needs to take Indy to the shed right fast and get some players rested by Q3. Three game road trip after Indy. There isn't a worse pass defense in the NFL than Indy.

4-5 wide from the start and go top fuel on their ass for 3 quarters. I'm fine holding Cobb and Ty out.

Word brother. Indy's OL continues to a bleeding like a sieve as well. There should be no reason GB's front 7 can't get to Luck early and often. And  agree, the DB situation in Indy makes ours look like nothing:

ESPN Staff Writer

Coach Chuck Pagano said cornerback Vontae Davis and offensive lineman Joe Reitz are in the concussion protocol. Both players were knocked out of Sunday's game early.

Sharp downturn for Luck

Andrew Luck posted the second-best Total QBR of Week 7, only to have a tumultuous Week 8 vs. Kansas City. He had the worst Total QBR of any signal-caller Sunday.

Sounds like a head coach who feels he's about to be fired. Could the Packers be coach killers once again?

Chuck Pagano calls this week “a defining moment” for Colts

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - OCTOBER 30: Chuck Pagano, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, reacts on the sidelines during the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Kansas City Chiefs at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 30, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images) Getty Images

The Colts lost 30-14 to the Chiefs in Week Eight and the loss looked a lot like the first four of the season.

The offensive line was a sieve, the defense couldn’t cover or tackle particularly well and the team was outclassed when all was said and done. That leaves them at 3-5 ahead of this week’s trip to Green Bay to face the Packers and another loss will make it harder for coach Chuck Pagano to keep saying that everything the Colts want is attainable this season.

That explains why he’s putting a little extra emphasis on what this week’s game means to the team.

“[This] will be a defining moment,” Pagano said, via the Indianapolis Star.

Pagano would surely like the definition to be a winning one, but the first eight weeks of the season make it clear that isn’t the only option. An effort that looks like the ones we’ve seen thus far will further define the Colts roster as lacking in both talent and execution and further support the beliefs of those who think Pagano and General Manager Ryan Grigson should be replaced by those who can change that definition.

One thing I've noticed with Luck (having him on my FF roster for a couple of years) is that he's a very slow starter and tends to throw picks in the first few series.  The Pack needs to capitalize on that, and keep the pressure on throughout the entire.  Once Luck warms up, he can be very effective, but if their O-line is as bad as P-boi said I like our chances of the D coming up big.

So I don't want to be "that guy" but why with as bad as the Colts are playing am I so worried about this game?  The Colts stink (3-5 record doesn't really show how bad they are) but for some reason I have an uneasy feeling this week.

More on Luck:

What happened Sunday was nothing new. It's been a career-long trend for the Colts' $140-million investment.

He's been sacked an NFL-high 31 times while also being hit 61 times this season. He's been sacked at least five times in a game an astonishing four times. Luck will likely surpass the 41 times he was sacked during his rookie season in 2012.

It gets worse.

Luck has been pressured -- sacked or under duress -- on a league-high 36 percent of his dropbacks this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

To put into contrast the amount of pressure Luck is facing, he was pressured on only 28 percent of his dropbacks during his first four seasons.

Don't expect the percentage to decrease until the Colts learn how to block better and "put the fire out," according to Pagano.

Three cornerbacks worked out for the Packers today: Larry Scott (Oregon State), Duke Thomas (Texas) and...

JC Tretter 'dodged a bullet' with knee injury vs. ATL. MCL sprain not expected to keep him out long, if at all

RE Linsley:

Former starter Corey Linsley, who hasn’t played this season, returned to practice two weeks ago and is eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list. The Packers have an open roster spot after they cut running back Knile Davis on Monday.

Because it's another game that looks like the Packers should blow them right out of the stadium, when in reality, their OL will look like the 7 Blocks of Granite, Luck will have 400+ yards/4 TDs, and our WRs "can't get separation", culminating in yet another salty PC from MM.

Rookie running back Brandon Burks, who was with the Packers in camp, has been re-signed to the practice squad.

No James Starks (knee) sightings but Ty Montgomery was in uniform after missing Sunday's...

Quinten Rollins (groin) returned to practice after missing the last three games, and it...

Demetri Goodson was added to the injury report with a concussion. Symptoms must've developed after the game because he finished Sunday's game. Here's the full injury report:

Tretter will miss several weeks with a knee injury.

New from JSOnline and PackersNews: Linsley set to return to starting lineup

On Tretter:

GREEN BAY - The revolving door at center continues for the Green Bay Packers due to injury.

This time around, starter JC Tretter will be handing the job back to Corey Linsley because a knee injury he suffered against the Atlanta Falcons is going to sideline him several weeks, a source said.

The Packers were lucky the injury wasn't worse given the shot Tretter took to his right knee on the second-to-last play Sunday at the Georgia Dome. Tretter was able to play the final snap, but he needed help getting to the locker room after the game.

Judging by the way Tretter got hit from the side, he might have suffered an MCL sprain. If that's the case, it's not something that requires surgery and is usually a 2-to-6-week injury. Many players are able to wear a brace that allows them to return sooner.

The source didn't say whether Tretter suffered an MCL sprain but said it wouldn't require surgery.

The ever expanding NFL injury list.

Ankles, Knees, Groins, Concussions, Hamstrings, and even Sickle Cell Trait. Gets depressing after a while.

I sure hope Ty is ok !!!  That puts the rest in proper perspective. ****

Yeah, it doesn't bode well for the end of the season. I mean, the last time we had so many injuries, we lost to Atlanta in a tough game on the road, were barely .500, and had nothing at running back or TE...how did that season end?

In spite of all the injuries, the Packers have been extremely fortunate with the timing of injuries to Tretter and Linsley. Especially this year, if we consider a new starter at LG and Lang hurting.

Can I be honest with my friends? I've been a major Packer limph the past year. Expcted more. I won't bitch though because I believe in the system and I know how difficult it is to win in this league and know I've been spoiled. I hurt though and realize X4 isn't for pussies.

You're suffering from PTSD.  Post Traumatic Seahawks Disorder.  I'm putting you on a regimen of cynicism and gifs stat!

I really hope they don't pigeon hole Monty into "just a" RB:

Another sign Ty Montgomery is more of a running back now: "He pretty much spends most of his time with me in my meeting room," Packers running backs coach Ben Sirmans said.

That game was the equivalent of me losing a testicle.

The Seattle NFCC loss wasn't that bad. To prove my point. Here's Morgan Burnett sliding after a pick with nothing but wide open acreage in front of him in the 4th with 5:13 left in the 4th up 19-7.

Is anyone really upset about this? Win some, lose some. Right?
