And, of course, defensive coordinator.
Shefter reporting Monty not as bad as feared.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Turns out Packers RB Ty Montgomeryβs rib injury is not as bad as GB thought, per source. Montgomery is day to day and could play vs. Dallas.

Absolutely wonderful news.
4 games though.

But I would also include Clark in your GB list.
Jones and Clark would be the next two on the list.
Jones? Josh Jones? Might want to give him a year before putting him on a list with 12, 69, 52, 87, 76?
#Packers OT Kyle Murphy will have surgery on his foot next week, according to a source. He was placed on IR last week.

Not putting him above anyone on that list (which is somewhat in order of importance to Green Bay), but there aren't many more in front of him. Based on the first 4 weeks and past performance I think you'd list the key players as the following:
Indispensable (No chance at a Super Bowl if he goes down)
1. Rodgers
Crippling (Impossible to replace, but could still contend without)
2. Bak
3. CM3
4. Nelson
5. Daniels
Who's on the list right below this? Dix, Burnett, Jones, and Kevin King (if for no other reason that playing Randall or Rollins is such a dropoff).
PackerBackerDPM posted:...They also said Chicago has all around better talent than Green Bay, as we have "too many blue collar work hard 'scrappy' types".
Sorry, I thought we were just comparing CHI and GB rosters, not who is currently indispensable vs. their overall talent/accomplishment. King and Jones are critical right now because of the lack of quality behind them at the position(s). They haven't proved enough, long enough, to be on a list with AR, Jordy, Bahk, CM3, Daniels, Burnett or even HHCD. And again, Clark is getting real close to proving he belongs on that list, especially with what the DL has done with Daniels on the sideline. If he stays on the trajectory he is on he will be better than 76. In a year or two when he turns 24.
Ahmad Brooks having back issues now? F.
Where did you get that? Everybody save Joe Thomas practiced today.

Individual drills. They are keeping all close to vest.
Regardless, I think the cowgirls are beatable with whomever we bring to play.
Didn't mean to say he was out but back issues are never a good omen for a LB in his 30's.
The latest media chorus is Rollins' root problem is his lack of speed. He has an ankle problem so maybe he's slowed by injury. Again.
the way this season/the NFL goes, we'll need 'em all yet.
Chris Wesseling @ChrisWesseling
Jordy Nelson played 48 of GB's 59 snaps. Absence on game-winning drive appeared to be hamstring, per @MikeSilver
Regarding Jordy:
Now updating my story. Was evaluated for undisclosed injury. Not believed to be serious. Sorry for the confusion. My bad. https://t.co/c0QdmWcnis

That was my expression too when A-Rod's pass was too high for wide open Jordy to catch.
I hope he just tweaked something and will be ok soon. He is playing with a quad issue.
Two more weeks until the bye.. Keep pushing through this and we could get another bye in week 18.
With all the players that went down yesterday, this thread needs to be kept alive. I'm too depressed to visit jsonline to get any news on the other injuries. Off the top of my head we lost:
Bahk
Bulaga
Taylor
Rollins
I think a couple more in the secondary as well. I know Pipkins and Brice were down, not sure if they returned. Add these to the growing list:
Rollins to IR - did they say what it was? I assume knee or achilles.
Achilles
I missed his injury....what happened.
Non contact, looked like he just stepped after changing direction on incomplete pass at goal line.
There have been several non-contact injuries on that turf............
May be the last we see of Rollins in GB. He couldn't afford to lose any speed - depending on severity of Achilles injury.
Might be time to call Revis. Desperate times....
ChilliJon posted:Might be time to call Revis. Desperate times....
I wanted him here months ago for his veteran leadership in the secondary.
ChilliJon posted:Might be time to call Revis. Desperate times....
If you had Rodgers healthy, I'd say yes. IN that case, you are clearly a Super Bowl contender and signing Revis could be a Bruce Wilkerson circa-1996 type move.
I don't think even the most optimistic Packer fan would say we are a Super Bowl contender without Rodgers. Hundley may turn out to be a decent QB, but he's going to have some growing pains. Revis isn't going to contribute (if at all) beyond this year. Might as well find out if someone else with a potential long-term impact can play at this point.
Edit: Hundley - I had to go in and fix my autocorrect.
I agree GB isnβt winning anything with Huntley.
LOL
It's Hundley!!!!!!!!! Not 'Huntley'.
ChilliJon posted:I agree GB isnβt winning anything with Huntley.
He ruined the joke by editing his comment.
It's Hedley.
He did some good work back in the day with a guy named Brinkley.
Mike McCarthy says Aaron Rodgers "suffered a significant injury". Will require surgery. Potentially season could be over.
From what I'm reading, the fact that surgery is the option does not mean that his season is definitely over. In fact, it sounds like surgery can speed up the process in such situations.
Nevertheless, it doesn't sound good. Ugh.
McCarthy pissed with the question about Kaepernick.
Also dropped a bullsh!t comment about their play.
MM was a fairly high level of pissed off today. Said Barrβs hit was βtotally unnecessaryβ. Heβs also really pissed about how the team responded after the injury.
I donβt know if he hit on tackling again today but he had quite a few things to say about it right after the game. If the tackling continues to look like it did yesterday it might be enough to push Mike to can Dom. He was really agitated today.
ChilliJon posted:He was really agitated today.
No $hit. He won't have #12 to bail his sorry a$$ defense out late in the 4th quarter.
He won't be able to roll out "Dom Capers is as fine a defensive coordinator as you will find in this league. Quite frankly, that question is insulting," much longer.
