I get the impression Arizona isn't too fond of Ryan Braun and it is absolutely hilarious how that backfired on them after the Lucroy blast.  I actually didn't mind Kirk Gibson until I saw him high 5 Marshall and then I started thinking this guy might be the dumbest manager in MLB.   He literally pissed away a possible win to send a message and for a team that needs every win they can get I hope he enjoyed the moment because the Brewers got another W

Without looking up a link for this, I believe Gibson and members of the D-Backs came out publicly ripping Braun and the PED thing as a reason why they got beat by our Crew in 2011.

Really what they did is no different than what Dempster did last year to ARod.

EDIT: Just saw a note on another site (guess who's?) that the first attempt to hit Braun went behind him and was luckily caught. The score at the time was 4-3 Snakes with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Gibson should be fired on the spot.

EDIt 2: AZ/Gibson plays the "who me/us?" game: http://www.azcentral.com/story...ay-in-loss/10723593/

Love this from Lohse: "Hey, you know what? They won tough-guy points (Tuesday), but I don't know where the stats are for those," Lohse said. "We won the game because of that."

I'm baffled to what exactly he is priding himself on here.  What exactly is the contrary position here?  Is there a large contingent of people who feel the pitch was an accident?  Does everyone else think catching a ball way behind Braun was a piece of cake?  Is there a gaggle of Brewer fans who never considered the strategy of desperately needing to hit Braun a poor strategy if you want to win the game?  It sounds to me like being a contrarian by al's definition is one of the following; stating the obvious, ignoring any information that doesn't fit his position, or "winning" an argument over the majority when the majority never held the position in the first place.

For example....

OK.  al had Scooter as top 3.  Scooter is currently a platoon second basemen, which is fantastic.  Not sure how he was ever top 3 in the organization.  Doesn't mean I'm not thrilled with his production, I just see his ceiling as limited.  al goes on to explain very clearly why Scooter deserved the ranking al gave him by... brining up Brantley/Green.  This makes no sense, other than to prove again al is right and the rest of us are stupid.  Evidence for one position using a completely different, unrelated set of circumstances.

So lets just say he's right, there is a clear line of thinking here.  To be right, all of the Brewer fans out there had to be breathing a sigh of relief when Cleveland took Brantley (cause we are all idiots).  Now, I remember at the time that everyone knew it would be a talented player leaving (we did get CC Sabathia).  There was a lot of talk about the merits of one over the other, with some people preferring to keep Green and some preferring to keep Brantley.  I'm not sure that makes you a successful contrarian if what you did was look at who is playing in the majors now and declare yourself the only winner in a sea of morons.

And the hitch in Braun's swing we all insisted would make him Craig Counsell, yeah, we were all collectively idiots and should have listened to al.  Man do I remember the "hitch in his swing" articles that went out nationally, the 34 page thread comparing Braun to Craig Counsell, and all the **** al got for insisting Braun might be a good hitter.  He put himself out there and he nailed it.  Credos al, credos.

Probably should pat himself on the back for this one.

going back to the playoff series seems like theres been a little bad blood between these 2 teams.

I fell asleep it was 4-1 and I missed the fireworks.

Enjoy watchign the replay of the beaning and Lucroys next pitch GS. hahahahah awesome

this season has been a blast so far. never expected theyd carry a comfortable winning record so far.  the Crew seems poised to be in this damn thing until the end.

The D-backs were hit twice in this game before that play, which may have had a little to do with it (I think gibby was looking for a reason, so he was going to find it somewhere).  The first was barely a graze, but the second did hit the guy right in the back of the neck.  Loshe didn't appear to be going after anyone as much as he was going inside.

The first pitch was obviously going after Braun, and BA said so much when he saw the call for the second pitch to be at Braun.  It was a stupid strategic move, so I hope his ivory tower has a good view.

I hope Gomez hits a bomb today, flips his bat, and watches the ball for three seconds before turning on the jets and circling the bases in record time.

I don't have a problem with D-backs plunking Braun given the playoff history and PED use.   I think it was a horrible time to do it and Gibson let emotion get the best of him.  Just walk him there to setup the DP.   Throwing at him puts you at risk for a wild pitch that scores the tying run..  Just dumb...

I do have a problem with the high fives afterwards and that warrants retaliation in my opinion.   If we find ourselves in a blowout in one of the next two, Goldie needs to wear one.

FYI.

Though the Brewers will be in Denver this weekend, drivers could experience heavy traffic around Miller Park, because the stadium is hosting about 35,000 people on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the Regional Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT each day. Organizers expect traffic to be at its peak during the Friday-morning rush hour.

This can't hurt the health of the Crew.  I may suggest they leave the door unlocked at Lambeau some weekend if it works for the Brewers.
