Note to self. Have Knebel available in most important series of season.

This.  Counsell overused the bullpen in the Pirates series.   No need to use Swarzak last night. Should  have let Hader pitch 2 innings last night and used Knable in the  9TH and saved Swarzak for tonight.  I like Counsell but he screwed the pooch for this game.   Except for the 3 mentioned our bullpen sucks.

Stearns and Counsell have done an incredible job!  We had the players in position to make plays that would have won both of the last 2 games.  Knebel makes the throw we win, Jefferess either made the play or should have moved slightly faster and we win last night.  Managers on and off the field need to put players in spots they can succeed, our hitters are getting their opportunities to produce and our pitchers are pitching Great{minus Drake).

Make two plays and it's Miller Time!

The last two losses have been a kick in the nuts but who would have thought we'd be in this situation with 2 weeks to go?

Colorado losing takes some of the sting out of last nights loss but they need to take control and start getting timely hits as they had several chances to put the game away regardless of what Jeffress did and it should have never gotten to Drake in the first place.

Braun needs to start stepping up.  His at bats lately have been really painful to watch.

We hear how "loose" this team is.  Well, maybe they're too loose.  Heard about how the club house was "rocking" with tunes (as usual) before today's game...well, it is not business as usual and you guys lost two tough games in 48 hours before this loss.  Maybe some or at least one of these guys needs to get serious instead of reveling in the fact the Brewers have over-achieved this year.

So that’s where you’re goin with it. Not “hey the Cubs are a vastly more talented team.”  Not “Baseball, man. Weird stuff happens.”

You’re taking the “they were listening to music before the game which means they weren’t serious or something” and that’s why they lost. Music. Before the game. Because listening to music before the game clearly means they are simply happy winning 81 games and they aren’t concerned about winning or losing. Just banging out killer tunes dude.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ on a cracker.

I wish it were as simple as music.  Is that like the Brewers equivalent to icing the cookies?

Part of the problem is just a pure lack of experience.  The Cubs are really good to be sure, but they have also been tested in the playoffs which prepares them well for these high pressure situations.  It sucks to watch them come up short but they are battling and it should help them for future (similar) events.

What ticks me off is how the ****ing Cardinals took the gaspipe against Chicago but are now on fire which doesn't help Milwaukee one bit.  We struggle to beat them and they can't help the Brewers when we need them.  God I hate the Cardinals!!  I hope Planet X or a small meteor crashes into BuschStadium or whatever the hell they are calling that place now.

You are taking this too serious.  We weren't supposed to be here this season.  The kids are feeling the pain of losing when it was big.  Hopefully it leaves a mark that pushes them further next year.

Arcia blowing a kiss to the dugout while at bat Thursday was a sign they aren't quite there.  Versus the Cubs Baez crouching lower and swinging harder to drive in big run.

You know, I am just going to take this as sarcasm. If it is serious, it reminds me of the 'bad body language' comments on here during the Yost yearsâ€Ķ

Watched the last two innings of the Padre/Rockies game.  Colorado looks like a team with the weight of the world on their shoulders right now.

Just got shut out for the third time in the last four games.

On a side note, I had seen photos of Lucroy with the lumberjack beard, but didn't realize that he had shaved his head until he took off his batting helmet.

Nice!

This is going to come down to the wire. Rockies play Miami and then the Dodgers in their last 6 games. We play Cincy and then the Aholes in our last 6.

It's amazing how Shaw's walk off could be what saved our post season chances. This team fought so hard all the way after 3 straight heartbreaking losses and found a way to win in extra innings. Thursday and Friday to me was the toughest losses to endure, Saturday was the sweetest win of the season IMO.  Wade Davis with his first blown save in over a year. Shaw's first career walk off HR. Damn did we need that.
