Never watched the show and my wife doesn't either. Saw it was a new season, turned it on and within two minutes saw DD and watched the dance and turned it off. Great timing. He looked like he knew what he was doing. The girl was hot. DD didn't fall down. Crowd seemed to like them. How good they were I have no idea.

It felt a bit 'modern' (obviously speaking in the 1930s sense) when it came to his hip movement with his partner, but the overall message really spoke to me. Not sure if those shoes were a correct choice either. Some of the camera angles failed to show how his shoulders were aligned with hers. Hope that doesn't cost him any votes.
I felt the free exploration of some of her spins to be refreshing., very much in line with the tempo and vibe of the obvious reference they had to the Red Scare. Very satiric, that I think the audience understood.
The potential is there. Nice first week.

I have in-laws staying with us right now. My nightly TV involves CNBC to watch the stock ticker until I seize up and then perhaps some Matlock. Don't even get me started on the ****ty TV I'm forced to watch these days. TBH, Dancing With the Stars would be a nice break.
Try living with a wife heavily into all the cool tv shows along with 13 and 5 year old girls that join in along with mama. Me and the 18 year old boy have to kick them to another part of the house when a game is on.

That's one of the few rules in our house that's written in stone - when the GBP game is on, there is no talking, no asking questions and you can only make light conversation during commercials if GB is doing well. Oh, and no complaining about the beer intake volume either.

Never watched Idol, Survivor, Dancing (my sister sent me the DD link I posted)... yadda yadda. Have very similar rules in my home with regards to a Packers game. Wife usually just leaves the house and my 3 sons and I watch without issue.
I've been recording 'Gunsmoke' reruns every night (late 50s - early 60s). A little touch of my childhood 
I think there were over 600 episodes so it should keep me busy for awhile
