Looks like a decent haul for the Badgers

Kaden Johnson was ranked the #1 LB prospect in the Midwest out of Minneapolis and he chose UW over MN and Nebraska.   Looks to project as an outside pass rusher.

Jack Nelson from Stoughton is a OL prospect ranked #16 for his position in the country.   His father played for UW and looks to be an absolute road grader likely to project as an OT.   Michigan and Iowa were also considered.

Trey Wedig was the #1 rated prospect in the state and ranked #9 for his position (OT) in the country.   Georgia, Michigan, USC and ND were in the running for his services.  Oh, he’s a mauler and goes 6’8” 320.

Some sources have the Badgers cracking the Top 25 in terms of their 2020 recruiting class and if they can land Jalen Berger (RB) or Kevontre Bradford (RB) it would be a hell of a class.  Berger is a heavy lean toward Wisconsin given his New Jersey ties and he’s the 3rd best RB prospect in the nation.  As for Bradford, he’s almost as good - certainly a top 15 player at his RB position in the country out of Texas.  He’s said to be very interested in the Badgers.  Ohio State is also in the picture.

I really like what Chryst is doing with recruiting.  I really like what they are doing with the LB position and of course at the OL.  But what I really like is hearing that RBs from different parts of the country are interested in UW.

Badgers appear to have focused heavy on trench players and pass rushers.

If you are a stud OLB or RB or OL why would you not come to UW?   Several high profile players at those positions playing and playing well in the pros.

Bostad and Settle and Rudolph doing a good job on the recruiting trail.

Badgers are starting to land some elite level prospects.  Last year, Logan Brown and Graham Mertz were top 50 national prospects and Tippmann wasn’t far behind.   This year, Wedig certainly is in the top 100 and Nelson and Johnson and Herbig aren’t far behind.

What’s interesting is if you took the best or mostly highly regarded UW prospects of all time most of the guys I just mentioned crack the top 25 best list to ever commit to Wisconsin.

Badgers got more good news on the recruiting front.   Hunter Wohler, rated the 7th best safety prospect in the country, committed to UW over the weekend.

He joins Riley Mahlman and JP Benzschawel as a 4 star recruit for the 2021 class.

JP and Riley are OL so holy crap you add those two to Wedig and Nelson who are 2020 recruits and that’s 4 OL that are probably among the 25 best in the country at the OL position.

If I am a top flight RB why I don’t just sign with the Badgers immediately is beyond me.  In 2-3 years the Badgers will likely have the best line in the country

With the 2020 and 2021 classes the Badgers now have a top flight RB prospect and 4 highly touted OL committed.  Assuming Mertz is in the mix this could be the best assembly of talent on offense they have ever had in Madison.

Very excited about what this team is adding to the mix.
