Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I ain't cheering any of those ****ers. We have to do it ourselves.

What if all those teams tie their final 2 games?
I still don't get how Tampa is ahead of GB right now...ESPN says it's record vs. Common opponents, but that would be false..each team has played Atl, Chic, Sea & Dallas... TB beat Atlanta, Seattle and Chicago..and lost to Atl and Dal, that equals 3-2. The Packers beat Sea, Chi x2, and lost to Atl and Dallas that also equals 3-2. Next tiebreaker is Strength of Victory, which puts the Packers ahead of TB. This is important because...IF the packers own the tiebreaker against TB...and The packers beat Minn, and Washington loses tonight and next week, and TB loses @NO, then regardless of outcome vs Det, packers should be the wildcard.
Surging: Again, it's the Green Bay Packers (8-6), who have won four in a row to move a game back of Detroit in the division. They have a home game against Minnesota next week, and if they can win that, the Week 17 game in Detroit will be for the division title. The Packers beat the Lions in Green Bay earlier in the season, so they'd hold the tiebreaker if they won in Week 17 and finished with the same record. They also hold a slim tiebreaker edge on Tampa Bay in the wild-card race.
The Packers inched ahead of the Bucs based on a tiebreaker (they have a higher strength of victory than the Bucs).
That's two different sources saying the Packers own the tiebreaker right now, but everywhere you look, they have TB listed as the 7 seed...when it should be the Pack. In other words, a Wash loss tonight SHOULD put the Packers as the 6th seed right now. What am i missing??
Can you double count Chicago as wins against a common opponent?
They only played them once.
Even if you cant...then you cant count ATL twice for TB, but then which of the TB games vs ATL would you throw out?? The win or the loss?? How would that be right, at all if you threw out their loss to ATL??
with Redskins,Lions,Vikings and Bucs losing, everything lined up perfectly for us this week.
Now beat the queens and we'll be in great shape
GNGB: Did you add up the strength of victory yourself?
Unless I'm missing something, Washington's loss tonight put the Packers in as the #6 seed.
Packers are now officially the 6th seed in the NFC:

ESPN Machine is not calibrated for the Bucks vs. Packers tie-breaker (too complex for Strength of Victory math)

Welcome SunnyGeorge!
I'd rather face anyone in the NFC than the Giants.
The chips fell perfectly for us this past week, with all the right teams losing.. Now we are officially in the playoffs (became #6 seed).
Next week we have a chance to win the division - with Detroit losing it against the Boys (PACK thereby becomes #4 seed).
But wait there is more! If all the stars continue to align perfectly for us - we have a mathematical chance to clinch the first round bye at the end of week 17 (and become #2 seed in the NFC) !
Note: this is just a wild hypothetical possibility, it would require stranger things to happen, like Seahags losing to the 49-ers - it is there nonetheless..
If all that happened, and Carl Bradford made the game winning sack/pick on some Seahag...
Someone here would say Bradford fell into Ted's lap.

Please define. I am lazy.
All I know is the Packers control their own destiny & if they "Run The Table" they win the division. Guaranteed.
That's what I want. A division championship. Let the chips fall where they may for anything after that.

We're due a playoff win against them It could be Detroit for the 3rd time this season, always a tough task to win 3 times against the same opponent.
But yeah, NYG looks like the perfect machine to give us another playoff heart break. Although 3 playoff victories against the packers at lambeau by the same QB seems like a pretty tough task too.
This is what I thought...a Carolina win, put the Packers in..although it's strange that NFL.COM has them in now, as they were one of the sights that had TB as the 7th seed yesterday. It goes all the way down to strength of schedule(the 5th tiebreaker), because Carolina won last night, it evens them up in Strength of victory(at least according to ESPN, but they also have TB in as #6 based on win % vs. Common opponents, which I'm telling you is wrong). Pretty sure that if GB wins vs Minny, TB loses @ NO, and Washington loses @ Bears, the Packers clinch the WC, even IF they lose @Detroit in the last weekend.
*The only way they wouldn't clinch after this weekend(in the above scenario) is if somehow a win vs Carolina by TB in Week 17 could possibly leapfrog the Packers in strength of victory, but the Packers would have the win vs Minny in week 16 that I would THINK would be enough to keep them ahead of TB, even if TB beat Carolina week 17.
Here's another playoff simulator. Still have roughly a 4% chance at the #2 seed and about a 42% chance of making the playoffs with a win Saturday, regardless of what happens in Detroit.
Carolina really did us a favor by beating Washington. Our path was pretty easy already, but they just made it a lot easier. Now we need Carolina to come through one more time against Atlanta next week and Tampa to beat Nola. If that happens, and of course GB wins out, then we would own the tiebreaker to take the 3rd seed. That could be key because in this scenario it would mean Atlanta would come to GB as the 6th seed. Matt Ryan, in the cold, in the playoffs, that's a recipe for a playoff win. If we end up with the 4th seed then we likely host the Giants...even though we beat the Giants I'm still a little uncomfortable hosting them in the playoffs.
On the flip side I think I would rather go to Dallas in the divisional round than Seattle. Seattle has been a nightmare for GB while Dallas is a nice cushy dome where Rodgers can make some magic.
Pfffttt.....If we make the playoffs....Bring on anybody!
Nobody wants to play Green Bay right now....N-O-B-O-D-Y!

??? we have a chance to win the division next week by beating Min and a Det loss?
I dont see that. wed be tied with a game to play. We cant win anything next week
Correct. We could earn a wildcard spot with a win & having both Washington & TB lose.
We if we win 1 of our 2 next two, Tampa drops their next two (@NO, vs. CAR), and Washington drops 1 of their next two (@CHI, vs. NYG) then we would be in as the 6th seed. Winning out is obviously the easiest way, but there is a path. We need Tampa to sh*t the bed, which isn't a ridiculous notion honestly. If the Washington team from Monday shows up against Chicago and NYG then they will probably lose both games.
All these equations... What we are really looking for is DTF.

The Bears ran out of time. So did Seattle. If that game had been 6 years long Seattle would have won by 1 point.
No, Wilson would have thrown 29 INTs.
As pathetic as Dom's scheming was against Kaepernick, he owns Wilson. Just owns him.

Even if TB only loses one of two & we both finish 9-7 we still have a better than 50/50 chance of beating them out for 2nd wildcard based on "strength of Victory/ strength of schedule" tiebreakers.

True, but the Packers DBs would have become so bored they'd start returning the wrong way.
That's a Viking trait.
How does this scenario work.....God forbid, Packers lose this Weekend, Lions lose (puts Pack at 8-7, Vikes at 8-7, Lions at 9-6)
Next week, Packers beat the Lions, Vikings beat the Bears. Puts all 3 teams at 9-7
Packers are 2-0 vs Lions, Lions are 2-0 vs Vikings, Vikings are 2-0 vs Packers
Packers are 2-0 vs Bears and both other teams have lost to the Bears
Packers win Division.
We be table the running, and we ain't stopping until about 9:38pm LFT on Feb. 5, 2017.
