Wow. Would that be something...

No thanks, he's simply not good enough to be a Green Bay Packer
Just found it interesting... from Forbes.
Justin Perillo is where it's at!
I vote yes. It's the Andre Rison acquisition
I'm with Satan on this one.

Exactly! Let him choke offer there in San Francisco.
Not TT's style, but I would think its worth the gamble. It would be like the Keith Jackson acquisition in the 1990s.
Vernon Davis' 40 time when he was drafted was 4.38.
Richard Rodgers' 40 time last year was 4.87.
They are about the same size.
I'm leaning towards YATittle and michiganpacker on this. Could be all the guy needs is someone who can throw a good pass his way... Stretch the field with a dynamic player, plus another weapon for Rodgers, and another player opposing Ds would have to scheme for. If you take the SF bias out of it, it could be pretty ****ing cool.
Not saying this has to happen, just found it interesting Forbes threw this one out there.
Mitchell Henry was released by the Broncos today. If TT gets another TE my guess would be that's the direction he goes.
I'm on board. I think he is pretty much done, but the risk is minimal, so it could be like a Keith Jackson or a Julius Peppers type signing, to where he is a vet and hungry for a title.
I'm not sure we want VD. If Janis can't get the playbook right after 2 years, how useful is VD going to be this season? Can he even block?
For some reason I can't open the Forbes article here at work so I'll have to respond blindly without reading the article.
In terms of acquiring Davis, if you're getting the Vernon Davis of 2 or 3 years ago, awesome!! The problem is, it isn't 2 or 3 years ago right now. I don't think Davis even broke 300 yards for all of last year and injuries have continued to haunt him this year. It might be a feel good signing/trade, but I am not sure if he has enough left in the tank to actually be of value.
I would have preferred Davis to AJHawkSucks, he was much more dynamic.
That was almost 10 years ago.
At this point, he may be broken down too much.
Doesn't sound like a bad idea if you can get him for a conditional 6th or 7th round draft pick. Davis isn't the player he was only 2 years ago, but he'd look a hell of a lot better catching passes from Aaron Rodgers than he does now playing with Kaepernick. However, I doubt the 49ers would want to risk helping the Packers win another Super Bowl with that kind of deal. Even if you get a draft pick out of the deal, it always looks bad with the fans when a player you trade away plays a key role in helping another team win a Super Bowl.
nope. next. i remember the remarks about being glad GB didn't draft him. next.
Perillo is next. Let's see if he can get into a game. My guess is he'll be inactive this week, but future...? Has Backman even gotten into a game yet this year?
I'm wondering why TT would promote Perillo when we also have Q coming back in a bit?

Not sure. Sorry, I'm convinced I don't want VD. Sensitive groin.

There will be more injuries.

Backman only played 6 snaps last game. R. Rodgers might be wearing down.
Plus if they aren't trusting Backman it limits what the offense can do, formation and scheme-wise. Perillo can't be a worse run blocker than Rodgers.
And don't forget Q is looking at a multi-game suspension at some point. Could be Murphy and Ted have gotten some new info from the league on how that will play out and it informed this move.
Tony Gonzalez

Green Bay was up and I was telling my agent, 'I hope Green Bay doesn't take me. I definitely don't want to go there'
F him
Yup...he can hang with the Confederacy of Dumb for all I care
As Kinky Friedman once sang "let Saigons be bygones", if TT and MM think he can help bring him on.

Ted wouldn't give up a 6 pack of bud light for him.
Forget Vernon, I'd take Tyrone Davis at this point.
Not interested in VD.
Now, if Chicago wants to unload Martellus Bennett for a 6th round pick, .
Maybe Gates could just stay in GB Sunday nite!
I think he's one of the 50 drunks.
Jeebus ****.

Pretty sure Keith Jackson and Charles Woodson made similar comments and that turned out pretty well for the 96' and 10' Super Bowl winners.
Tramp.
So true, Tschmack. Like Reggie, was at his peak earlier in his career with the Eagles.
If Philly hadn't had that buffoon Buddy Ryan as HC they probably would have won a Lombardi before Reggie left. Those teams had some players.
Not interested in VD.

apparently Seattle has no interest in using Jimmy Graham properly.
