Well.

The Eeyore crowd can now keep their erections.

Quite honestly, I was hoping we would win today.

I really thought we would win today. I don't blame the defense so much as playcalling by the offense. We are playing backups to the backups on so many positions so there is that I guess

I blame the defense equally. It isn't like all hands were on deck for the offense either.

And what was up with the 1st half kick coverage?

They truly need to evaluate the talent on this team at this point.  Some guys are out of gas or never had gas.

They kept or depended on a few guys a year our two too long - Peppers, Lacy, Starks come to mind (Maybe even CM3 - whose hamstrings almost scream PED-related problems). Of course, we complain when they cut a guy like Sitton....

The ****ed up part: offense scores 26, defense allows 21, and some lazy fuks on ST allowed 7. The difference in the game was literally just STs. Zook didn't get a fax of the other teams playbook this week so he didn't know wtf to call...

The weirdest part was that the ESPN beat guy noted that for some reason they only had 4 guys lined up on one side of the ball at the kickoff. Indy knew that and ran right into it for the TD.

MM said they had a "couple of guys in wrong lane". Could be what AR was referring to when he talked about lack of concentration & not being ready to play

They won't do anything during the season but they need to move on with Capers and MM.  They are stale, predictable, and played out.

I wish a guy like Bill Cowher would come to GB, but he'd want personnel control. TT is still solid (there's talent on this team, even with the injuries, but it's being wasted), so that isn't going to happen. Hope TT makes the right decision with these clown coaches in January, and makes a good pick with the next HC. McCarthy and Capers suck ass.

I think we over rate our talent.

WR

Cobb couldn't perform as a #1 without Jordy last year.  This year, not putting up numbers you would like to see from his contract.

Adams, he's looked better this year, but he is not elite talent and his ceiling is probably decent #2.

Jordy, first year back from major surgery doesn't look like the same guy.  Still a great player, but he isn't top 10 WR right now.

Monty is great scat back, could be a good slot in the right offense, but not this one.

TE

DikRod is tits on a bull.  Cobb at 5'5 150lbs is a better blocker and he has the elusiveness of Mark Tauscher.

Justin Perrilo, enough said.

RB

Eddie Lacy has good vision and feet, great grinder, but doesn't have break away speed to change a game.  He's shown a lack of motivation by eating himself out of shape but them comes back and gives that gutty performance on a gimp leg two weeks ago.

Starks looks to be done.  Durability was always his issue but now even when healthy, just looks done.

Conclusion

So, outside of QB, in my opinion, right now we got one borderline elite playmaker on offense and he has a China food problem.

To give some credit, we have a LT who is top third in the league. But at the skill positions you're right, they have a collection of good, but not great, WRs; no real TE talent; no real NFL-level RB.

On defense, they'll need to find at least another CB to replace Shields and they may have to rebuild the depth on the front 7 if Peppers and Neal (who may get a massive deal from someone else) are gone.
