I am somewhat obsessed with The Wilbury’s 2 albums. Such catchy songs. Such gravitas.

If Orbison would have lived, they'd have made a few more albums.

The story about how they came up with the name was great.

β€œWilbury” was a slang term first used by Harrison during the recording of Cloud Nine with Jeff Lynne. Referring to recording errors created by some faulty equipment, Harrison jokingly remarked to Lynne, β€œWe’ll bury ’em in the mix”. Thereafter, they used the term for any small error in performance and the term was used again when the group were together…

A bunch of famous guys who didn't need the money just sitting around and having fun like teenagers playing music in their garage.

The lyrics were great too.

Harrison on Handle Me with Care

I've been fobbed off, and I've been fooled
I've been robbed and ridiculed
In daycare centers and night schools
Handle me with care

Been stuck in airports, terrorized
Sent to meetings, hypnotized
Overexposed, commercialized
Handle me with care

I've been uptight and it made a mess
But I'll clean it up myself, I guess
Oh, the sweet smell of success
Handle me with care

Petty on End of the LIne

[Verse 3: Tom Petty]
Don't have to be ashamed of the car I drive
I'm just glad to be here, happy to be alive
It don't matter if you're by my side
I'm satisfied
