Brewers lead 2-1, so far. Cards lost to the Nats, 11-6 today.
Burnes has 13 strike outs on 80 pitches. Brewers now batting in the bottom of the 6th. Peterson at bat. Adames on deck.
Double header today for the Brewers and Giants. 2nd game starts at 6pm CST. Freddie Peralta pitching game 2, for the Brewers.
Burnes has thrown 49 cutters, today, 42 for strikes.
Burnes pitching in the 8th. 14 strikeouts on 100 pitches. Devin Williams warming up for the 9th inning.
Devin Williams on for the save. Still 2-1 Crew.
Urias catches a liner by Flores to end the game. Brewers win, 2-1.
Damn near took Williams head off.
Since this cheap ass franchise will never extend Burnes they have to trade him in the offseason. Get a ready now real bat and prospects and gear up for 2023.
I wonder how ,any cheap ass franchises pay a guy $26,000,000 a year for 7 years and a $20,000,000 in the 8th year?
Back to the game Brewers have a very good 1st inning scoring 3 runs. Really impressive being it was against a lefty. Sure the error helped but they still did what they had to do to get the runs in.
A Spahn and Sain rotation may be in their future
Peralta leaves the game in the 3rd after throwing what reporters said were three 88 MPH fastballs in a row.
That doesn't sound good.

Need something that rhymes with Ruff or Burnes to make sense.
Burnes and Woodruff and pray for stuff?
Or maybe, Woodruff and Burnes is enough for Stearns?
Urias just beaned in the helmet. Tough guy, he stays in the game. Wisely, San Fran takes Hjelle out of the game.
Urias scores from 1st on a hit to deep center by Mitchell.
Taylor Rogers strikes out the side in the 9th for the save. Brewers win 4-2. Gain a gameand a half on the Cards but more important get a game and half on the Phillies. And away we go. Reds coming in for the weekend. Philluies host Washington while the Padres host the Dodgers. After watching a Packer victory the Brewers could be in a tie for the wildcard.
I like your optimism !
Better than some peoples glass always empty.

Is Derek Turnbow available?

I'm thinking Jeremy Jeffress.
Thatâs concerning about Peralta. Paul Wagner commented that he thought they rushed him back too soon and they should be prepared to shut him down for rest of the season. Not sure I disagree with that thought. Heâs an important piece of the (future) puzzle so donât want to get him injured any worse.
