It's only pre-season and the Bears do not match up well with the Giants. That said, I think it's possible the Giants may be even stronger than last year.

David Wilson was really impressive at RB. He looked like Ahmad Bradshaw only even faster. Keith Rivers... I have no idea why the Bengals traded him for very little, he looked like an improvement for the Giants at LB from what they had last year.

The Bears have been talked about as a darkhorse Super Bowl team. I don't know if I buy that. The Giants looked like a class or 2 above them. Eli Manning looked outstanding tonite.

The NFC is gong to be a real dogfight. The only division really questionable is the NFC West, and the biggest reason is QB play.

NFC North: Rodgers, Stafford, Cutler
NFC East: Romo, Manning, Vick, and possibly even RG III
NFC South: Brees, Ryan, Freeman, and Newton

All of these guys are capable of Pro Bowl seasons, which gives your team a shot to be a playoff team.
The NFC in general is pretty decent. The Giants, 9ers, Packers, Saints, Falcons, and Eagles will be very good and the Lions, Bears, and Cowboys have a chance to be decent as well. I am also really intrigued by Seattle and Carolina as two up and coming teams. About the only teams you don't expect to be good are MN, TB, and the Rams.
It's not always easy to tell what a schedule looks like before the season starts. But as of now, the Giants schedule looks brutal. Besides their own division, they've got GB, NO, ATL, CAR, SF, PIT, BAL, TB, CIN and CLE.

Not too many creampuffs on that schedule. The second half of their schedule is brutal. If they don't get off to a hot start, they may struggle making the playoffs.
