Locke gets multiple passes batted down and the Badgers with another illegal lineman downfield penalty to short circuit the first drive. The fact that these are recurring things is an indictment of the coaching.

Worst Badger team since 2001 from a W/L stand point, however I bet that the 2001 team would beat the Fuckin Fickell Funky bunch.

The 2001 team scored a lot of points but couldn’t stop anyone especially bad pass defense.  

This team offensively is bad.  Run defense is pretty awful.  Coaching is fucking horrendous.  How did they win 5 games?  

Who gets the coaching job after a 5-7 season? They really can’t afford another abysmal season.

Since Locke hasn’t turned the ball over yet, this feels insurmountable

I could deal with the poor record if they were showing any signs of getting better.  This team is not.  They are steadily getting worse.  

I really didn’t think Fickell could get fired after two seasons but if they get blown out in this one as it appears they are well on their way to doing I’d say all bets are off.

It may suck to lose a few of their higher ranked recruits if Fickell goes but this team is DOA.

It's not as if they were going to qualify for anything better than the Joe Barry Bowl.

While I agree that it might hurt to lose some recruits, what has this coaching staff showed that they can do with them anyway.

Well, next season is lost anyway.  Their schedule is really tough.  It gets much better in 2026 and 2027.

So, if they are going to make a change, no reason to wait another year.  

We’ve seen in college football with NIL and transfer portal you can ramp up a lot quicker than in years past.  

Badgers lose this one in ugly fashion I would guess Fickell is gone by Sunday.  The fans and alums and former players have had it.

Exactly. What has Fickell done that looked impressive? Fired his offensive coordinator, who he hand picked after 1 1/2 season. The defense has regressed so much it seemed ages ago we had a good defense.

i don’t fault McIntosh on getting him here in Madison, hoping it would take this program the next step. I just don’t see anything that improved from last season. Yeah it sucks we lost our starting QB, but the Locke experiment needed to stop 4-5 games ago.

The problem with firing Fickell, is that Mac went outside the box to hire him over Leonhard.  For him to fire Fick is admitting a major mistake, in his biggest decision as AD.  Will he be willing to admit that?  I don't see anyway that Fickell is gone, unless Mac is fired first.

Well, Barry made a mistake with Gary Andersen and fired him right away.  

This isn’t all that different IMO.  

Better to can a guy too soon than too late.  Fickell has completely lost this program.

That's beyond inexcusable. Those teams are a combined 19-14. None of them are particularly good.

Barring a complete collapse by Minnesota this game is over.  

As should Fickell’s tenure at Wisconsin.  

Tschmack, I agree with you, but Alvarez could make that play because he was in no danger himself.  McIntosh isn't in the same position.

Locke needs to be benched, if he is in next half, Fickell needs to be gone.

If the people that write the NIL checks are fed up, Fickell will be gone. If not, he's got another year.

Badgers had 44 yards of offense in the first half.

The Badgers look like they will win 3 Big 10 conference games this year. The combined Big 10 records of the teams they beat is currently 3-21.

Does anyone remember when the concern with the Fickell hire was that he'd be so successful that OSU would come and poach him when they inevitably fired Ryan Day?  My guess is that OSU has permanently lost his phone number.
