Greg Jennings is pathetic

Maybe his sister-in-law can take up to Twitter for him.

Who cares

Could he file a civil suit against his sister for lost wages?

Would he go for two? As in, two stints with the Vikings?

When the Vikings show no interest, you know your career is in the schitter. It's going to take a team getting decimated by injuries sometime after the regular season for him to get another chance. And even then, it may not happen. 

He was already declining his last year here. He's done nothing since.

I'm still puzzled about what happened with him.  Anytime he was mic'ed up on the Packer sidelines he seemed like a total team guy.  He and Rodgers and the other receivers seemed tight.   I don't know if he just got greedy with the Packers or whatever, but I was really shocked when he left, and obviously he's done very little the past few seasons.

Greed.

Underestimating the lack of playing with a HOF QB.

That's what happened to Gerg. Had he taken GB's offer and kept a good attitude here, IMO they would have transitioned him to more of a possession type slot WR like Wes Welker. He probably wouldn't have been that productive but he could have been a better version of James Jones over the last 2-3 seasons and exited a Packer HOF. Oh, and listening to his sister ended up bein' a bad idea.

Apparently for some people it's as easy to get sucked into it as buying it at Wal-Mart. 

How many TT/MM guys (who overlapped with Jennings) are now influencing personnel decisions throughout the league?

Dorsey (KC), McKenzie (Oakland), McAdoo (Giants)

Add that with the three teams he's played for (Packers, Dolphins, and Vikings) and there are 6 teams that know his locker room personality and talent well. None appear to even be mildly interested. That should tell Gerg and his sister a lot.

Players like Greg lose it fast.  He was undersized and never really that fast so when he lost his quickness, he didn't have much else to rely on.  He's probably done as no one wants a #4 WR with no upside who can't play special teams.  Sorry Greg, but it's time to think about life after football.  

Add Schneider/SEA to the list MP - 7 teams, nearly 25%.

Impossible to say how it might have played out had he not gotten hurt but he clearly misjudged the WR market regardless. Still think the emergence of Cobb may have played a role in his desire to go where he felt his talents would be better appreciated.

Some people expect the worst possible outcome regardless of the situation. Some people don't let the unknown eff with them too much. Out least not outwardly. 

Greg is well entrenched in the former. 

When Ted didn't give Greg the red carpet treatment he felt he deserved and let Greg twist a bit in FA he let that completely consume him. You could hear it with each passing week in his comments. He convinced himself he wasn't wanted then lashed out at GB for not wanting him while he was still on the roster.

Weird dude. 

I live in the Western Michigan area near Kalamazoo. I can't tell you how many people I've run into that speak glowingly about Greg Jennings based on when they interacted with him when he was a high school student and a college player in Kalamazoo. No hint of entitlement or attitude problems.

It seems like his entourage (exemplified by his sister) seemed to push him towards being a lot more narcissistic. He'll still probably be fine as he didn't seem like the type that would end up bankrupt after football. Hopefully, he isn't supporting a large extended family that depend on him for their car and house payments.

Jennings is a lock to be in the Packers HOF.

I hope you're not being serious. Take a look at some of the players in the HOF. Then take a look at what Jennings did with the Packers. 

Wasn't it Jennings who a long time ago had beaten a defender by a step in the EZ and when Favre looked at him for the throw, Jennings pointed to a different receiver who was wide open on the other side of the EZ? If it was Jennings, what happened to that unselfish guy?

There should be a ****bag wing in the Packers HOF for guy's like Favre and Jennings. 

He always has his acting career to fall back on.

Figures. Most of the bannana heads on Rubechat want him back. What a bunch of dip sticks!  

Rick trades a 5th round pick for Mike Wallace. 

Rick immediately releases Greg Jennings. 

Rick releases Mike Wallace after 1 bad year. 

Rick resigns Greg Jennings. 

When you look at it this way it suddenly becomes very, very Viking.

Same here.  The company I work for would get Green Bay Packers like Nick Collins, Nick Barnett, Ruvell Martin, and Greg Jennings to come and sign autographs and basically hang out at certain company events.  Jennings came to events in 2008 and 2009 and was absolutely a great guy and represented the Pack well.

I just think the fame and money went to his head and he's not quite the same guy he was during his early years.  Hopefully as some time passes, he'll let go of the bitterness he had for not getting the contract offer he wanted from GB.  Life is too short to stay bitter over something as ridiculous as that, hopefully he comes to his senses now that the end is likely near for his career.

I think Favre happened to Greg Jennings. He got sucked into the drama and the "management is crap" mindset.

I think the underlying problem was that he was upset at himself or embarrassed that he turned down the 10 million a year the Packers had offered. He probably thought he was going to get 5 years/60 million and then when it didn't materialize he was embarrassed to sign at 8 million a year with the Packers.

The best guess was that he got around the same offer that Cobb and Nelson took ( around 4 years and 40 million). If he takes that offer he probably gets the whole amount. Instead, I think he ended up getting about 22 million over the last 3 years. Not bad, but he left a lot of money on the table and had to move his family twice.

Greg was basically Antonio Freeman, part 2. A good WR who was elevated to a Pro Bowl level by a Hall of Fame level QB. Freeman left for a year, then swallowed his pride and came back for a final year. Freeman is now thought of as a career Packer and seems to be involved in a lot of Packer alumni events. Maybe Greg gets there to, but if he continues to be bitter at the Packers because he turned down the Nelson/Cobb contract it may be a long time.

The parallels in Freeman's and Jennings' Packers stats are eerie. Here are their statistics as Packers.

Freeman  431 receptions, 6651 yards, 57 TDs

Jennings 425 receptions, 6537 yards, 53 TDs

Holy crap, that is spooky.

He's a 6 reception 114 yard 4 TD game away from tying him.

I like Greg, he's looking for another gig, that's fine.  I never met him, but I follow him on Twitter and he appears to be the same nice/family/religious guy that everyone knows.  Now there are some here that want to bash him, for trying to pine for another job, that's his business.  Who cares.  TT offered him a contract, he went somewhere else, and then went to another team, it didn't work out for him professionally, but personally, I think he is a good dude, and one that Packers fans should respect.   

The only semi-bad off-field thing I've ever heard about Jennings was him pulling the "Do you know who I am?" card to get his family seated quickly at a crowded restaurant in Green Bay.  That's something I heard second hand, and it certainly doesn't make Jennings the devil, but it does sort of make you think that if it's true, he was starting to get a big head before he left GB.

If Greg shuts his hole, signs the original offer Ted put in front of him, it probably looks like this today:

642 receptions. 9,400 yards. 78 TDs. And we're talking about a different HOF. 

Choices matter. 

The flip side here is that Greg may have shown Jordy and Randall that the other side of hill is probably crop dusted with Roundup. 

In the end Greg probably did GB a huge solid.
