Just finished two giant helpIngs of thanksgiving. There’s a good chance that I’m dead. Can’t tell just yet.
I'm thankful for all the X4 posters who make my life more enjoyable every day. Each morning I log into X4 to see what y'all are saying about the Pack and other things. I look forward to it every day, thank you all again.
Baked turkey with all the usual trimmings, very good. Did not over eat as I was saving room for a delicious pumpkin cheese cake with maple syrup (made from trees in our own yard) and pecan topping.
Wow DD, real maple syrup from your trees. Yeah....count me in on that!!
That dog is the coolest, Fedya
Fedya has aged badly.
Mutant shih tzu mix. We don't know what the other half is, but he's twice the size of a shih tzu. He gets along with everybody.
My son and I travelled to my niece's for Thanksgiving. A wonderful time was had by all. I hope everyone at X4 had a great day.

I thought that was the Ghost of Thanksgivings Past. Or Henry Kissinger.

Yep and it tastes as good as or better than store bought. My folks have 10-12 very mature maple trees on their 1.5 acre lot that we tap every spring. Some of those trees can support 3 or 2 taps, more if we choose to. Each tap gives like up to 5 gallons of sap a day during the season. Collect the sap daily and put in very large 55 gallon containers. When those containers get full, 4 of them, our guy who boils it down for us collects it and does his thing. I think this year he collected the sap 4 times from those drums. Its a lot of work, and my folks neighbors who help out in tapping and doing the daily collection (folks are 87 and 86 respectively, dad with dementia) share in what we get. The guy who boils it down the neighbors and my folks each get 1/3 of the resultant syrup. This year my folks ended up with 12 quart jars of maple syrup as their share. Quite good, especially over ice cream.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. It's no longer turkey day for me as I will never eat another helping of that bird in celebration of anything. Just too many years of it. I made a 7 lb rib eye and hit everyone's bullseye- medium rare on one end, pointlessly grey on the other. Then we had a discussion on what to make for Christmas. Opinions are evenly split between shrimp mountain and a river of ribs. Turkey was never even mentioned.
commie!
If there's anything I could offer all y'all its this.
After you assemble your stuffing in 9x13 dish, cook in oven covered 45-50 minutes at 350.
Then to serve, cook in your waffle maker about 10 minutes and make stuffing waffles that are crispy as hell on the outside and lovely on the inside.
You're welcome.
Grignon you Heathen......
You obviously never tried deep fried turkey. It's now tradition in our family.

Given the Ribeye statement, I'm guessing the end of turkey is more than you don't know how to cook?

So his shitzu is twice the size?

Great mixed in with seltzer or club soda, makes a great 'cream' soda.
Sorry to hear about your dad, I and my brothers were spared such a sad thing.

Duck, which is what we had for Thanksgiving.
