Boris, if you prefer to merge this into an existing discussion, please feel free. I didn't see one on page 1 that would be appropriate.

Per Anwar Richadrson of Yahoo Sports, your NFC North winner this year will be the Detroit Lions (he likes Detroit's offense with Reggie Bush. Really). Not the 11-5 Packers, or the 10-6 Vikes or Bears. The NFC East winner will be the Dallas Cowboys, 16-16 the last two seasons. The Niners will win the West, the Saints the south. The Iggles and Seahags fill out the bracket. Nope, the Packers, 26-6 the last two seasons, won't make the postseason. Apparently, he's worried about our defense.

Oh, and after beating the Falcons, this guy has the Saints going to the Super Bowl. He's enamored with Kaepernick, but fails to mention that half our starting secondary were out.

Has anybody heard of this guy before? Is Yahoo in a tussle with ESPN for the worst sports site title?

Is it fair to criticize tt and the coaches over the safeties?  I guess but I put it more on McMillian and Jennings learning what they're supposed to to develop.  They're given an opportunity to develop. What they do with it is mostly on them.  I think they both showed potential last year and it wasn't unreasonable to expect them to get better.

Let's keep in mind that during all of the OTAs and offseason, Jennings and McMillian were battling for the SS spot. GB wanted to find the best partner for Burnett (playing the FS role) and being the QB of the defense

Then on Saturday/Sunday -  Burnett is sore and can't go, leaving precious little time for them to work on being the FS and QB of the defense vs a very talented offense.

That's what hurt more than anything else. The other key thing for a safeties' development is experience, so the game begins to slow down for them- neither McMillian or Jennings are there yet- but Burnett is

To say that the safeties suck or that TT and MM blew the deal is classic stupid given the circumstances, but that won't stop some fans from spewing on the topic

Perspective, context and understanding the big picture are required in order to offer a useful opinion here. Give it a try sometime
