- As it became clear Favre wasn't going to retire the orginaztion desperately tried to convince him to retire because they knew how bad it would make them look for "forcing him out". Favre decided not to retire and TT decided to trade him.
- This despite leading the team to a 13-3 record the previous season and had an mvp quality season.
So what is Favres crime.
A grown man wants to continue to work. Its his life, his body, and he still obviously had it.
He didn't ride off into the sunset like you wanted so you could put a nice neat bow on things just like everything in your sheepish life.
He went to the Vikings, a team that was an ideal fit with the offensive system, supporting cast, and coaching familiarity.
Both games he completely dismantled the Packers. Led the Vikings to a better record. A playoff win. And statistically one of his top few seasons.
There is really nowhere to place any blame.

If he would have had a bad season there would have been more fuel to transition away from him, but he didn't. When you have failed mulitple times in playoff games over several seasons you may have to compete for your job, especially if you plan for home field advantage and those important playoff games are outdoors and you clearly showed you could not effectively play in cold conditions.
