Given the Brewers situation the football season can’t get here fast enough.

Lots of newcomers on the team this year so will be interesting to see how this team does.  Other than the game at O$U there isn’t a game on the schedule they can’t win but a lot will depend on how well Mertz and the receivers play.

He doesn’t need to be Russ Wilson but he can’t be Joel Stave either.

Badgers had 8 starters return on D last year and most of the offense as well.  A lot more changes for 2022, not including a new OC.   Basically all the WRs and TEs are new except for Dike and the back 7 on D is other than Herbig is resetting.

Good news is the OL will feature some studs, the DL looks really tough, and all three backs return.   I also like some of the guys they added via transfer to fill in the gaps.

Still, this team will go as far as Mertz will carry them.  They have a lot of the pieces in place to be really good, but if Mertz can’t improve his play it’s another 8-4 type season.

Advice time.

I’ve seen the Bucky/Illinois St. type match-up too many times to skip an invite to a neighbors watch party for Ohio State/Notre Dame tonight.

Natch will be attending in Badger gear. but, what do you say, do, I?

1) Openly root for Notre Dame? (Ugh)

2) Is my hubris at assuming a Badger win going to cause an Appalachian St.v Michigan type of loss?

I’ll hang up and listen.

It might be a bigger upset if Illinois State beats Wisconsin.

Openly root for ND?  Hell no.  No way no how.  Can’t stand O$U but the Domers are far worse, if that’s even possible.

Same feeling if Michigan plays ND.

Good news is you get to par-tay.  I’d recommend tequila.  Lots of it.

Not yet. Tulsa vs Wyoming is going into OT, so the Badger game is moved to FS2, until a winner is decided. Our cable company, in western Wisconsin, does not carry FS2. Tell me this is how football broadcasts will be, this season. First game in and we won't get to watch it until at least a quarter has passed, in the Badger game. Love them TV rules!
