Would be interested to hear from the resident Hawkeye fans what is going on in Iowa City.
Sounds like they parted ways with Chris Doyle, but other players are lobbing allegations toward KF and other assistants.

It's a shitshow, and evidence of how building your entire system on nepotism and not getting an outside perspective can be toxic (imagine hiring your children to high level positions, couldn't possible go well...).
That being said, it wasn't long ago something similar happened in Madison, and I am guessing happens a lot more than people want to admit, so I'll be careful casting stones.
Plus, as a Badger fan, I want Kirk around for ever.
Thanks for the perspective
Whatβs interesting to me is how many players have come forward to express concerns. Sounds like it isnβt or wasnβt an isolated incident
Sounds like things are way off the rails at IOWA. I don't see how Ferentz survives this.
Not sure they can get rid of him unless they are willing to pony up on the his buyout. I don't know the current status of his contract but two years ago his buyout on his contract was $22.39 million. I had to double check the numbers but Ferentz is in the top 8 paid college coaches.
As El-Ka-bong said I also want him around forever.
Not sure about his buyout, but it should be a lower number if he is fired for "just cause". And it appears to me that what has happened to some players it could be a just cause situation.
It depends how his contract is structured
He could be like Sean Miller in Arizona and the university would be on the hook for a lot of money. Given the fact Iowa basically gave KF a lifetime contract my guess is that they would owe him a ton of money if they fired or separated him

KF is the Mike McCarthy of the Big Ten. He's a good enough coach that his teams are not likely to be bad for long, but his schemes have gotten stale and he's stalled out. The things that are alleged probably happen in most Midwestern and Southern university cities with D1 sports teams or professional teams. I agree with El-Ka-Bong in that we shouldn't cast stones. Just look at the video of Sterling Brown getting tased in Milwaukee.
