I don't care if you've read my diatribe before. It's time to remember that regardless of what the morons to the North do, or whether they win some games, or there's a meth addled Favre family member running around in Minneapolis, as a Packer fan, I must remind you that the bears that were, are, and always will be our main rivals.
Period.

There is no debate.
There is no 2nd place.
The bears are THE rivals. The bears should always, relentlessly, and continuously be hated above all else. The Packers could win 43 straight games against them, we should still be filled with hate of 1000 white hot suns as they go for win 44 in a row. They will still be the most hated and storied rivals they have. We cannot and should not discount this team, this franchise, or their fans. There should be no empathy. There should be no feelings. F**k the bears previously. F**k the bears today. F**k the bears forever.
61-7. Perry over Cumby. Ditka. Kevin goddamned Butler. Their goddamned horrific fields. Dan Hampton. Their fans. Dan Singletary and his stupid goddamned eyes. Doug Plank. Buddy Ryan. Hub Arkush. Doug Buffone. Butkus. THEIR F**KING FANS. Coming back to you now, isn't it?

With that, let's review the top 5 best wins over the bears.
1. NFCC game 1/23/11 21-14 win. For pure importance it doesn't get bigger than this. Literally it can't unless rules are changed for who can play for SB. Only the 2nd playoff meeting of all time. In Chicago. Winner goes to the Super Bowl. I've never been so amped/nervous/demented about a game in my life. Mainly because I'm fairly confident my father would have died that day if they lost. But, also because as disappointing it would have been to lose the NFCC, losing the NFCC to the Bears would have been an absolute horror show. I sometimes think beating the Bears in the NFCC was more satisfying than the Super Bowl win, as no matter what - we will always be able to say we beat them at their place and prevented them from going to the Super Bowl. That said, I know the win wouldn't mean as much without the SB title.
2. We Have A Reversal 11/5/89 14-13 win. I'm a sophomore college at Illinois. Surrounded by Bears fans. The emotions of that play go from elation to getting trash talked to doing the trash talking. Ditka still pissed off to this day. The asterisk. Plus, at the time you really thought this was a resurgence of the Packers after years of hot garbage, as well as a win in a 3-18 stretch vs them.
3. Taken by Chester Marcol! 9/7/80 12-6 win. The glasses. The single bar facemask. A guy named Chester. Sudden Death. Craziest ending ever. I hope he still has that football...
4. The Monsoon game 10/31/94 33-6 win. Torrential rain. Throw back uniforms. Favre "running" for that 36 yard TD. Sayers and Butkus getting their jerseys retired at halftime and then pour it on more in 2nd half. I really thought we were up much bigger at half, but it was only 14-0. Monday night game that introduced the nation to the new Green Bay Packers. Cannot for the life of me find any video at all from that game.
5. Epic Beatdown 11/9/14 55-14 win. I lived through 61-7. I heard Dan friggin Jiggets talk about it on Chicago radio every 12 minutes. Knowing that they probably could have put up 80 and backed off is even better than topping 61-7.
6. COBB!!!!! 12/29/13 33-28 win. Maybe the 3rd most important game in terms of playoff impact. Rodgers first game after coming back from collarbone. Winner goes to playoffs. Great game back and forth. Boykin with the crazy fumble recovery TD and of course the Cobb TD pass after Rodgers just missed getting killed by Peppers. I was SCREAMING about Jordy getting murdered on that play and it wasn't called. Thank god we don't have to relive that missed call.
Again. F**k. The. bears. ALWAYS. Sweep the leg. No mercy.
100 seasons.
Essentially the oldest teams in the league.
197th meeting.
Intense rivalry. Bitter history.
Butkus. Nitschke. Starr. Payton. Favre. Urlacher. Rodgers. Soldier. Lambeau.

Let’s never forget 2011. Yes, it included the NFC Title at Soldier Field. 2011 will always be memorable in that Green Bay beat Chicago 4 Times in one calendar year. A record that will never be topped.
And those are three things those askhats to the north will never, ever get: Pride, Honor, Tradition.
The Bears still suck, but it’s an honorable, prideful, traditional suck!
going to be a 'rusty' game, lots of rust on both sides, since nobody plays really a full game in preseason- expect things to be slow...i am worried about their dink/dunk to their rb's - they are good. will test our ilb's right away. but our d will be on display and nobody knows what to expect, so bring it on mikey p.
This is going to be a fun season with a lot of unknowns. I want to see that Dline wreak havoc.
Relative to their fan base even though they still suck I feel the Bears are a shining light in a festering pool human waste. Now it many be an empty can reflecting the sun from the midst of that waste but......

Caution to all, on top of Bear week we have company at Miller the next 3 days. By travelling here they try to build character but reality is they solidify their ignorance every time they escape and choose to return.

Bears and their fans are tied. Below them are the Vikings and below them is their fans. Nothing below them but that red dude with the pointy tail!
As team rivalry goes, I hate the Bears first. However, I also hate the Vikings fans the most of all fans. Even more than Cowboys and Patriots fans. Damn, some of those people are nasty. No class. I chalked it up to “Packers envy”, but sheesh...
But the Bears still suck.
Growing up in ND taught me that the lowest form of sports fan there is follows the Minnehaha Vikings. Buncha part-time, mouthy, never-won-**** group of d-bags.

Me, my father, and his father were 'beat the bears' people.
Even in the lowly 50's, a good season was beating the bears twice.
I even have a bit of love for the lions, although I don't know if they'll ever get out from under the Matt Millen era.
That brings us to the barney's fans...
Understandably the most butt hurt fans of all time and so deserved.

My most distinct memory of the Halloween game is Al Michaels, "That was a 9 yard punt (by the Bears)" fade to commercial. Close second is Favre tackling Edgar Bennett in the endzone after a nice long touchdown run.

Ummm, the Concourse Game
and
Concourse game was memorable but brutally, brutally effing cold. 10 below in the 2nd half. Wind was angry that evening. “The Hand Game” shall not be revisited. Ever.
Best part of the concourse game we’re the fans afterwards. “Great. We made the playoffs. Who cares.....”

I don't hate the Bears like I did in the '80s, but I'm probably capable of that again if they ever get really good again. I expect them to be vastly improved, so I can feel the hate in me just waiting to be unleashed again.
Even though I hated the '85 Bears at the time, I actually look back at that team sort of fondly. We will never see defense played that way ever again. Just pure fury and chaos thrown at the QB on every snap and then Walter Payton shoving the ball right down your throat after they would stop you. Hated those guys but respected the hell out them at how hard they played and how talented they were.
The '85 Bears were just a fart in the wind.
Sunday night can't get here soon enough.
