Bears fans VERY confident on some message boards I visit.  Some say the only unit on either side of the ball that favors GB is QB.  Packers will have to put an extra blocker on Mack every play. Roquan has the speed to turn 3rd down AR scrambles into punts.

i may not even watch Sunday night.

I am dead serious when I say Aaron Jones is just as talented as Kareem Hunt, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, Tarik Cohen...

Now let's use him! Get him involved in both phases... He is a star - don't be surprised when it happens.

Ben isn’t fully correct. Aaron Jones is more dangerous with Aaron Rodgers as his QB. Kids going to be a ****ing star.

Thanks Ted.

The script is a work in progress.

In 2015, Mack faced Bryan Bulaga most of that game. On a spin move, he beat Bulaga once for a single sack. The rest of the game Bulaga stoned him and kept him a non-factor.

I assume Bulaga saw Hick's comment today. Likely it's printed and posted it on a locker room in GB. Actually, probably several locker room doors.

Thanks Akiem.

the more i listen to the drivel on national media about mack, my linchpin is the packer d.  if we can pressure and confuse mitchie we will win.  I see picks and scoring from the defense.  so all the focus is on their d and our o, i would say don't sleep on our defense.  and i see that 42 is practicing limited yesterday, so if he doesn't go this week,, boo, but recovery seems to be on track which is good for us, middle is weak spot for us still.

Sometime around 1976, I got a "Gang Green" sweatshirt for Christmas.  It had four guys on it that were supposed to be mean.  That was the name of the Packers' defense, the result of a fan contest, I think.  And for some reason I loved Dave Roller.  He had 18 sacks one year for a not NFL team.  Here he is as not a Packer:

He did not like Bob Avellini  From the awesome book "Mudbaths & Bloodbaths":

Now that I see the post, I realize you can't read that.  It's great though!

**** the Bears.

I think it’s great that Hicks ran his mouth about Mack because maybe that will give the Packers a little extra motivation to beat their asses yet again.

Barring a few games with Lovie at the helm it seems like Rodgers plays pretty well against those guys and you know damn well he wants to prove a point that he’s not fragile or declining (getting older).

Looking forward to the first two weeks in particular.

I've only been watching the Pack since '78 so I missed some of those older rivalry games.  But since I've been watching, those mid '80s brawls between the 2 teams were the most intense affairs I can remember in the Bears/Packers series.  Both teams played hard and dirty, to be honest I think the Packers were the dirtier team.  That cheap shot by Charles Martin on Jim McMahon pretty much was about as dirty as it gets.  At the time, I loved it... but truth is it was awful and symbolized that things got out of hand between the 2 teams.

Who would have thunk that by the mid '90s some of those Bears we hated would end up becoming Green Bay Packers on some great Packers' teams.  You had Steve McMichael join the good guys in 1994 and then Jim McMahon and Ron Cox shortly after.  I don't think either McMichael or McMahon ever embraced being Packers, but they didn't mind the paychecks.

Wasn't it the Bears who cheap shotted Majkowski and unwittingly brought on the Favre era?

Freddie Joe Nunn.  Remember the play well.  Going out of bounds.  It WAS a cheap shot.

Serial Pooper at Practice Field Has Ties to Training Camp Dorms
DE PERE, WI–Authorities said they cracked the case of a mysterious serial pooper targeting the Packers outdoor practice field, and the identity of the suspect came as quite a surprise: the training camp dormitory superintendent! The Ashwaubenon Volunteer Police Squadron (AVPS) said the resource officer monitoring activity surrounding Lambeau Field was alerted to the feces fiasco at Ray Nitschke Field by training camp staff.  According to investigators, the stool scoundrel was defecating on the field “on a daily basis” leading up to the start of training camp.  The resource officer, along with some staff, collected samples from evenings prior and surveilled the field for the dastardly defecator, which led to identification of the suspect as 49-year-old Bradly Kramer. He lives several miles from the practice field, but moonlights as the superintendent of the DePere college dorm facilities during Packers training camp while players are hold up there to prevent conjugal activities at home with wives or retired race car drivers when they should be studying their playbooks.  Kramer, which some on social media have dubbed the “pooper-intendent,” was charged with lewdness, littering, and defecating in public. He later lamented that he would have gotten away with it if detectives hadn’t matched their evidence to the corn cobs that he threw into his trash can.

Mike McCarthy makes it official: Justin McCray will start the opener at right guard. He made eight starts last year in a fill-in role last year at three different positions. He's the only new opening-day starter, joining LT David Bahktiari, LG Lane Taylor, C Corey Linsley and RT Bryan Bulaga.

He was injured when he was upended and tackled on his shoulder by Freddie Joe Nunn, who drew a personal foul on the play. At first thought to be a bruise, Majkowski's injury turned out to be more serious, a torn rotator cuff. The Packers finished the season with backups Anthony Dilweg and Blair Kiel.

Was that even in doubt. That line has NO depth. Heck, this team has no depth. A couple of big injuries and we are toast.

But that's true for most teams. Outside of the obvious (which is Rodgers getting hurt which would essentially end any hope for competing this season), they can't afford to lose Bakhtiari or Matthews. The Packers look to have strong depth at DL, CB (finally), and TE. Those latter two positions killed them in previous years.

If you are paying a franchise QB you can't afford to have as much depth as other teams that don't have that cost.

I'd actually put Bulaga ahead of Matthews in order of who they can least afford to lose.  Actually, losing anyone on the o-line would be bad because the drop off to the back-ups is much greater than with the linebackers.

The Vikings would absolutely kill to have the Packer's "problems" at OL, including depth. As would about 90% of the NFL.

No doubt, but to be a Super Bowl winner a team must aspire to be among the top 5%, not like the bottom 90%.

OT and OLB are both equally of concern. There doesn't even seem to be a stopgap level backup at OT (Bakh/Bulaga to Murphy/Spriggs) or OLB (CM3/Perry to Gilbert/Fackrell).

In both cases they are paying for some bad draft picks from TT. At OT, Spriggs and OLB: Fackrell, Biegel, and Bradford (who would be in Year 5 now).

You have to think they were shopping Trevor Davis to try to get a replacement level player for a backup at one of those positions.
