One thing I think we will fortunately never see again  was the genuine hatred these 2 teams had for each other when Forrest Gregg was Packers HC and Ditka was Bears HC.  The Bears were significantly more talented, Gregg knew it and had the Pack play dirty at times to try to make up for it.  It culminated with the Charles Martin slam of Bears QB Jim McMahon which was about as dirty a play as you'll ever see.

That 1986 Packers team probably would be the lowest point in Packers' history.  Not only were they dirty, they sucked, and they had freaking Mossy Cade who committed one of the worst non-murder crimes anyone had ever heard of at the time raping his own Aunt.

As much as I hate to say it Ditka and Bears had every right to hate on the Packers.  They sucked, they were dirty, and they were thugs off the field as well.  Thank God that infamous period of Packers' history is long gone.  Let's hope we never even come close to revisiting it.

Doug Plank would like a word and to shake your hand for this wonderful take.

But, unfortunately, you've been knocked unconscious after he speared you helmet right in the chin 4 seconds after the whistle blew.  Like he did every goddamned play.

They had the opportunity in the 55 burger game.  They took the high road and let up in the second half or they probably could have scored 70.

It was 42-0 at half.  AR had 6 TD passes.

I really really really wanted MM to keep the foot on the gas. I know risking AR, and blah blah blah.

I wanted AR to get to 8 TD passes

I wanted >61 points

I wanted to humiliate them on national TV.

Was at that game.  The whole second half nobody watched the game and everybody in the stands had a huge bullshit session.  It was great.

All these years later I still want revenge for that 61-7 beat down from the Bears.

I am also shocked the Bears/Packers was only 11-7 in the 80's I swear it feels like the Packers never beat the Bears in the 80s.

I felt like it was 99-1 Bears with the ONE being the instant replay game.

Just glad the game is at Lambeau. Team's about due for a breakout performance and no better time to do it than against your rival.

The Packers have been saving their playbook for the last 3 games of the season.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

The final three games of the season are going to be the Divisional round, the NFCCG, and the Super Bowl.

So with all that we are talking about on this thread the one thing we are missing is why we hate the Bears.

FIBS.  anyone growing up in Wisconsin knows what I am talking about.  FIBS everywhere in the summer time.  UGH

The constant talk about the 85 Bores.  Yeah I get it you won the Super Bowl ONCE and you still brag about it 34 years later?

Ditka, Singletary, McMahon, Mongo, the Fridge, etc.  screw them and anyone that has played for them.

Let the hate flow X4!

For those of you who were not in Platteville when they came to town. The superb owl team  with a few exceptions, were some truly vile excuses of humanity. It was amazing how many turned a blind eye to the numerous crimes committed.

This is the 200th meeting between these two teams and the first noon Bears/Packers game at Lambeau since 2008!

I'm kinda surprised it hasn't been flexed yet. So, i looked at the  NFL Flex guidelines and it says  they have to flex a game 12 days out. Except for week 17. Week 17, in order to ensure a Sunday night game with playoff implications, the decision to move the start time may be made on six days notice.

This means that if the Packers win out, they get Wild Card weekend off and a home game in the divisional playoffs, most probably against New Orleans or an NFC Wild Card team that most likely would be Minnesota or either the 49ers or Seattle Seahawks (whichever team doesn't win the NFC West).

Home field advantage in the NFC playoffs

In the chase for the NFC's No. 1 seed, the Packers need a lot of help.

Three things are necessary for that to happen:
- The Packers must win their remaining four games
- The San Francisco 49ers must lose two games
- The Seattle Seahawks must lose one more game

Considering the fact that those teams have matchups against each other (49ers-Seahawks on Dec. 29), the odds of all those losses happening are, to be kind, not the best.

I'd love to get the Saints at Lambeau after a week off as they're banged up and not as strong a team on the road.

I don't think it will happen no I don't think they will get the #1 because of Seahawks easier schedule.

The 49ers could lose two more games.  They are at the Seahawks and they play the Rams who are playing much better.

Seattle would have to lose a game against the Panthers or Cardinals which I don't think will happen.

The Saints could get the #1 but like the Packers I believe they will need some help to get there.  They finish with Colts, Titans, and Panthers.  I could see them losing to the Titans who are playing way better and the Colts.

I think the Spermheads look like they are pretty much a lock for the wild card.  They finish with at the Chargers, GB, and Bores at home.

If the Packers get in I am happy with one home game in the playoffs and take it from there.
