Depressed as this will be the first Packer-Charger game in CA that I've missed since moving here in 1980. Even went to the preseason game. One year had to buy season tickets to get a seat and sold the rest on EBay. This game sold out in milliseconds so I'm sure all the CA Packer fans got tickets early and the prices have not dropped. My neighbor is a Steeler fan who was trying to get tickets to their game in Carson a few weeks ago and he said prices never dropped near game time like they sometime do.

Some pundits are saying that the Packer's fans will hold a 70% attendance rate advantage in LA as compared to 30% for the Chargers' fans. Lambeau West, folks! Nagler says tickets for the worst seats will be going for around $400 a pop.

Puntwits need to back off on the whole "home game for GB!!" narrative.  Having the fans on your side is only half the issue with home/away.  The team still has to get on a plane and travel two time zones away to live/play in an unfamiliar environment.  That shouldn't be discounted.  Closer to reality if we had 70% Packer fans in CHI or MIN.

I don't buy into the whole travelling through 2 time zones and playing in unfamiliar territory, thing. The gridiron is the same size. Same amount of hash marks. Same size goal posts, etc.  Most of the Packers have played out west, before. Rodgers is from California and seems to have made the time zone adjustment, nicely. No one is discounting anything. You should never underestimate your opponent. I expect a large Packer fan presence at this game. That presence and the players hearing those fans cheering them on will do a lot to take away any notion of playing in an unfamiliar environment. Speaking of pundits, ESPN pundits are saying the Chargers are going to upset the Packers this weekend. I say the preparation the Packers put into their practices and how they execute their game plan will give them the victory over the Chargers.

My case for holding him out until after the bye week:

That would give him a full 8 weeks of rest/rehab.
I don't know that we "need" him, although it would be nice for ARod and the offense, I'm sure.
I like the thought of him having fresh legs for the stretch run into the playoffs.

If he is able, I'd like to see him come back the week before the bye week.    Play a game, take a week off, then play again.

I understand your thoughts and that would be ideal but every week counts this season.  They are only one game ahead of the Vikings in the division and you never know what can happen injury wise during the rest of the season.  With the defense being inconsistent and relying on turnovers, this game could be closer than many here think and you need to bring all available firepower to the battle.

Technically he is back β€œthis week.”  At practice.  Without pads.

Saying he hasn’t been medically cleared, doesn’t feel like himself yet, and isn’t doing it until both of those things happen.

And apparently he said it more than once (β€œreiterated”).  That’s a pretty wet blanket if those quotes (in bold above) are accurate.

I listened to Bak's interview. That's not what he meant, he meant back to playing this week, not at practice.

Adams settled on a pair of Nike Vapor Untouchables -- shoes that he wore during the 2017 season -- and might have to wear some protection inside his right shoe. But it sounds as if he finally feels comfortable pushing off on his right foot.

"It's huge, because once you can push off and get out of your stance, you can stride out and really run the way you could when you were healthy," Adams said. "That's how I'm feeling now."

Frankly, I think the Pack wins either with or without Adams at "home" against LA. But I think fans have to remember, dudes like Adams are extremely competitive. I think there's a good chance he's cleared this week. That's all he needs to hear. As MLF said yesterday, Adams will be "ecstatic" to be out there playing again.

I would advocate sitting him out until the toe isn't at risk for a new injury. Adams played hurt in 2015 and ended up statistically the worst WR in football. Many of us (including me) thought he was a bust, but he sucked because he couldn't push off on his leg. The 2015 version of Adams is not worth playing. I have confidence in the Packers medical staff that if he goes back out there that he's healthy enough to be the "real" Davante Adams, but I hope they don't feel a need to rush him back.

Seems like a solid plan. I like it. Panthers are no joke and we need those conference wins to keep up with the Saints.

I wonder how different the urgency would be if we had gone 2-2 the last 4 weeks.

David Bak said this is the best he's felt in 7 years at this point in the season. Never before has he felt this good 8 games into the season. He said MLF's practice schedule and "light" vs "hard" days of practice is much different then what MM did and it's paying off. Bulaga echoed the same thing, said he feels really good.

Remember the days of MM's energy bars/jello things he was pushing like a couple of years ago in TC? Ya, that worked out well.

Did the Packers finally get a new strength/conditioning coach?

It's been proven that NFL teams under-perform as a function of how many time zones traveled. It's definitely been studied to death by sports bettors.

Like most sports...it's worse going from West Coast to East however.

Unless it's a night game.then travelling West will also screw you up...big time.

Early games on the East Coast for West Coast teams is the killer.

But...in the NBA teams do well traveling East. So go figure.

Wait, what?  I thought Bulaga had a mangled ring finger.

Must have a different definition of 'feeling really good'.

Should we go get Tonya Harding?  I understand she is good at crippling the competition.

Can she stop YA Tittle from liking everybody's posts?

I believe they switched with the long term trainer (too lazy to look up his name) stepping down into the associate trainer role, and the old associate moving up to head trainer.

Good news from our friends at CHFF

1) Now we have confirmation that Matt LaFleur's Packers team is the genuine article, and we aren't talking about a single win in Kansas City. Sure, it was the Pack's biggest win of the season (Dallas fans may have a gripe, but we're sticking with KC), but what it really did was firm up Green Bay's position in the highly predictive Intelligence Index. The Packers jumped from fifth to third in the index after Week 6, and now they've held down the fort in consecutive weeks, leaving the Bears isolated as clear pretenders in the NFC North. The Vikings aren't far behind the Packers (less than a full point in the standings) and the Tennessee Titans are somehow back within range of the top three after back-to-back wins with new quarterback Ryan Tannehill, too. Both Minnesota and Tennessee's grasp near the top of the Intelligence Index seem much less permanent, and only head-to-head divisional losses seem likely to send Green Bay plummeting down the index at this point. We should all come to grips with the fact that the Pack is indeed back, and Rodgers β€” who has solidified himself as third in Real Quarterback Ranking and fourth in Offensive Passer Rating β€” is leading the charge. Watch out NFC, indeed.
