I don’t believe that weed is good to be on when driving. I don’t like it when drivers are impaired. But usually smoking weed results in driving too slow.  81 in a 60 is too fast.

No signs of impairment and no DUI charged.

Haven’t been keeping up on what the League does on a first offense, but I think under the current CBA he just earned himself extra urine tests. Put himself on the radar, so to speak.

I don’t think a first offense gets him a lengthy suspension (if any), but a future dirty test would.

So it doesn’t start out as a big deal, but it could turn into one in a heartbeat if he doesn’t quit weed.

Depends on the band.  Those Sousa kids are wild.

New kids on the Block?

Going 81 in a construction zone with a car carrying passengers and something deemed illegal seems impaired to me. Or at least poor judgment.

As we all know, 20 somethings are known for their good judgement.

True. I have been guilty of that myself. And Z was a stand up guy when he took it on himself. I admire that. My complaint about his actions has to do with speeding in a construction zone. I travel a lot every summer and people who do that risk other peoples lives. That’s nothing to sneeze at. For all I know, the arrest may have been bogus but the actions that preceded it was poor judgment at best.

I'm really digging Lizard as I watched the game. I think there's a place for him in the offense, a trustworthy possession receiver who isn't a deep threat but is reliable and uses his height to his advantage.

5-5 vs KC. Most reliable WR we have until Davante comes back.

Christ almighty, just legalize it already. So lame when half the nation laughs at these "citations"

You'd think the NFL would be leading the push for legalization. So many players are using it, now, for pain control, etc., that the NFL could be missing out on revenue from not sponsoring it.

The citations are such bullshit.  Gestapo action.    The cop supposedly smelled weed, 3 blunts, that was stored in the duffel bag in the back of a Yukon  while standing outside the driver side window.

Give me a fucking break.  Unless this cops mother was a blood hound, thats just not realistic probable cause.   This super sense cop then handcuffs 3 citizens without any physical evidence of wrong doing to search their property.

This bullshit needs to end.

Which part of this scenario is bullshit that needs to end?  The reasonable suspicion for the traffic stop?  The probable cause for the search?  The detainment of the occupants of the vehicle?  The citation?  The prohibition of marijuana in general?

Make your case and back it up with facts related to the constitution and case law rather than your opinion.

I'll hang up and listen.

Because it's a well known fact that cops olfactory senses are greatly diminished due to sticking their own heads up their asses.

Science man, science.

@Fedya

The courts have stated that an odor of marijuana in a vehicle triggers probable cause to conduct a warrantless search of the vehicle.  I have no reason to question the officer's ability to smell marijuana in this instance since the search of the vehicle revealed exactly what he smelled.

A contstruction zone is a construction zone.  Besides, the driver was well over the speed limit to begin with.  Your argument is weak.  Do better if you're going to chime in with dumb.

Now THAT is a compelling argument!

The probable cause.   There is no way the cop smelled 3 blunts stored with tobacco in duffle bag in the back of the truck.  Anyone who has experience with weed will know how incredibly unlikely that is.

It’s a BS excuse that cops can use to conduct a search.

If they were smoking it in the car, sure.  But officer blood hound surely would have done a field sobriety test if that was the case.  He didn’t, because they weren’t smoking.

What’s the repercussions of Officer Blood Hound is wrong?   You got 3 innocent men detained in handcuffs because of a smell?  That is bullshit.

FYI.  I work in the justice system.  I’m very pro Law Enforcement.   So don’t attempt to turn my opinion on this into anything other than I think Cops use this as a bullet proof way to conduct an illegal search.
