If Preston gets three more sacks he earns a $2 million performance bonus. Remember his contract was rewritten to add incentives, potentially earning him MORE than last year with improved performance.

Hope he gets it.

After Smith's 2nd sack Rodgers was holding up 2 fingers. He did the same thing at the end of the game when they hugged. Either Rodgers was telling Preston "Hey man, you got 2 sacks!" or " Hey man, you need 2 more for 2 million!"

No spring chicken either.  Both Smith's are in similar situations but Z has the higher cap hit.  And potentially bad back.  Gary can step in for one of them but if they cut ties with both, you're suddenly in need of a #2 edge rusher.

P and Z each have their own risk in keeping on in 2022.  The rush has been just fine without Z but then you're banking on P having similar numbers two years in a row.  P does play the run better.

P certainly gives the FO something to think about whether or not they want to cut bait with Z. P and Kool Aid Man have provided amble pressure.

Z was wanting an extension/raise before his back injury.

I don't know the dead money on the cap if they cut ties with Z or Preston.  But, I sure would think at this point they will cut ties with Z and figure out something to take care of Preston.

As for the Ravens they have been ravaged by injuries maybe even worse than the Packers if that is possible.  I looked at their depth chart and they currently have 12 defensive players on IR and on offense they have 10 players as questionable and couple listed as out.  But, that being said that team has with the exception of the Bengals game has played it really close.

The ultimate key to me is Jackson's mobility which is a huge part of his game.  He is a decent passer but if you make him pass to beat you I like our chances.

The FO has to be frustrated with #19's inability to stay healthy.

Absolutely, they are concerned.
His Dad was a world class weightlifter- I wonder if EQ is just strung a little too tight - like a lifter. Maybe toss in some yoga, flexibility stuff too ?

I also think he's had 4 football concussions, 1 in college and this is his 3rd as a Packer. That's less than ideal
