As much as I love reveling in the repeated failures of the Minnesota Vikings, I'm mindful of two things:

1) They have one of the best defenses in the league and can rush and wreak havoc on a good, healthy offensive line; and

2) Our offensive line is not healthy.

Sure, Rodgers is a Wizard, but I still remember a few plays in Atlanta where our offensive line effectively let four guys get to Rodgers unabated (Help, please). I wouldn't go so far as to say the Vikings have a bounty out on Rodgers this weekend, but the Vikings have a bounty out on Rodgers this weekend.

Look the hell out: screen passes, quick dumps, runs up the middle to avoid the rushing corners. . . whatever you can do to not let him get touched. To win this game we need to win the turnover battle.

Going to need a stream for the first time this regular season...

EDIT: just seeing bvan's separate thread on this, oops.

Week 6 and still haven't had to stream or go to the book here in Vegas.   Little worried about next week vs N.O.   Then week 7 is Monday Night.

Monty a full participant?   Didn't expect that so soon, will be interested to see how MM splits the workload up.

I don't think it necessarily means he'll play on Sunday.  It being a rib injury, he could be a full participant in practice, but still be held out of the game.  (None of his teammates are going to pop him in the ribs.)

Right?

Brooks situation is crazy. He’s never missed a lot of time during his career. He’s missed nothing but time in GB.

Counterpoint. He’s old.

Sure he is old but he is also in GB so that somehow will get land him on the injury report.  As for the other injuries I have to wonder will Bakhtiari will ever be back soon?

An article the other day said how Zimmer is an old-time coach: "Are you hurt or are you injured? If you're only hurt, suck it up and get back out there!" The MRI was clean for any structural damage, so my guess is that they wanted Bradford to be only hurt, stuck him out there, and now they're suffering the consequences. Keenum, Diggs, Rudolph, and Cook (when he was out there) have kept the boat afloat, but barely. If Bradford can't go and Bridgewater is still not ready, it could be another 8-8 season at best.

Are we getting Biegel back this week or next week?

IR rules are a bit funky.
There is a 3 week window after he begins practicing to get activated or go back to IR for the rest of the year. He can begin practicing after week 6 and be activated after week 8. If I understand the rules correctly, this is the quickest a player can get activated from the IR.
The Packers....who knows what they will do?
Since our bye is scheduled for week 8, and the players typically have that week off, I'll predict he won't get activated until week 9 at the earliest. Assuming, of course, he is cleared, and no other injuries have happened at LB.
This also brings up the question who may be released to make room on the roster. Brooks to IR? Or releasing a fringe player (Pipkins)?

Timmy, he's on the PUP not IR, but otherwise your statement is true. After practicing for three weeks whenever that time starts after 6 weeks on the PUP, then the team can activate him or place him on IR. IF I understand it correctly.

Edit: assuming you were talking about Biegal, the all American hound dog.

Then there's the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List, which is also used for the regular season. If by the end of the preseason, a player isn't medically cleared, he can be transferred to the Reserve/PUP, which prevents that player from playing and practicing during the first six weeks of the season.

The good news is PUP allows teams to apply roster exemptions while keeping their players under contract with the ability to play later in the season, which is why most teams apply PUP at the start of training camp for any injured players. If an injured player isn’t placed on PUP at the beginning of the year, a roster spot must be used on him, or he must be placed on IR. Once someone is activated from PUP onto the active roster, the team will have to make a corresponding move by releasing/waiving someone to open a spot.

By rule, players on Reserve/PUP are excluded from practicing and playing during the first six weeks of the regular season. They're allowed to do conditioning work with the trainers -- similar to what they did during training camp on the Active/PUP list.

After six weeks are in the books, teams have another six week window for that player to begin practicing. If they're unable to practice when this window expires, they remain on the PUP list for the rest of the season. Once they do practice, teams have 21 days to make a decision:

I think the biggest offensive threat to the Packers Defense will be the queens' TE, Rudolph. He is their underneath the coverage go to guy. The queens will send everyone deep and that opens up the entire field for Rudolph. Rudolph is hard to bring down as our DBs can attest to. No matter what QB the queens put on the field, we have to make sure he is pressured every series. I am hoping the Packers do not take the queens lightly. This is the big border battle, for them, and even though Chicago is our long time, traditional rival, the queens are wanting to get added to the great rivalry conversation. I think they want that kind of respect more than they want a Championship and based on their trophy case, I may be proven right on this.
