Short week. Game's in 3 days.

Jason Wilde @jasonjwilde Per @Michael_Cohen13, Jaire Alexander spoke to reporters in the locker room after the game and was not diagnosed with a concussion after all.

I haven't watched many Seattle games this year, so I'm not sure what to expect from them.  From a record and stats standpoint, these 2 teams are pretty similar, so I expect a very close game this week.  As of today, Vegas has Seattle as 2 point favorites as the home team.

If the Packers can minimize their turnovers and bone-headed mistakes, they should come out with a win.

I don't like this game for the Packers.  The injuries seem to be adding up (I knew it was too good to be true for that team to stay healthy for long) and they have to travel a good distance on a really short week.   I really hate TNF for that reason.

If the Packers win the coin toss, they need to stop this defer shit and say "we want the ball and we're going to score!".

GB has to be among the league leaders in points given up on an opening drive. This defense stops no one to start a game. If not for a botched snap, the Dolphins would have almost certainly scored on the opening drive. Yet again Rodgers would be opening a game down points.

Give Aaron the ball. March down that field. Get some opening drive points and take that crowd out.

Can someone email this to "We do what we do" McStubborn?

Fun Aaron Jones stat:

38.4% of his rushing attempts this year have resulted in a first down. Think about that for a second. The only other RB close to this is Kamara at 32.5%. What would our 3rd down conversion rate look like with more Aaron Jones mixed in with Aaron Rodgers?

But the Saints have given Kamara the ball 13.7 times a game compared to 10.4 for Jones. I can only assume the 5-10 215 lb Kamara is more durable than the 5-9 208 lb Jones.

And is better at pass protection.

He also doesn't have that 1 fumble in 174 career touches. His fumble happened with 379 career touches.

Only way you get better at pass pro as RB is to get live game reps...a concept McDumDum has failed to grasp...or is absent from the SOTM charter.

Is Jizzones pass blocking any worse than Spriggs?

The Pack has done well vs. the Seahawks at Lambeau, but not so much in Seattle.  They absolutely stone cold should have had 2 wins on the road there this past decade and couldn't finish the deal in either of them (I won't revisit the details of either of those horrid losses).

I think it will be another close game.  Whomever executes the best down the stretch wins the game.  Probably will come down to whoever has the ball on the final possession.  If I were betting money, I'd bet the Seahawks, but I think these teams are pretty even and the Pack will give them a battle.

Pack struggled in Seattle, when they had a top 3 defense. A lot has changed...the Legion of Boom is long gone.

Packers are a middling team...so are the Hags. A 4-5 squad, and rain on Thursday will keep the crowd down. Home field won't be quite as grand as it was 5 years ago.

They have a better blocking option for Jones,  not for Spriggs.  That's the company line, not necessarily mine.

80% of kickoffs league wide are deferred. It's not a MM trend, it's an everyone trend. Bruce Arians was the only coach in the league in 2017 who elected to receive 100% of his coin toss wins. None of the options give any kind of statistical advantage over the other though, this is just nitpicky McCarthy stuff. I'm just waiting for someone to complain that he laminated his 11x17 play sheet instead of just laminating two separate 8.5x11 sheets or that his choice in gameday attire is completely out of season and ridiculous for a HC. Those complaints have about as much affect on the team success rate as his choice of coin toss action.

I'm sorry to be the PC police, but I think Seahags is a pretty crappy name to call them.  I think they prefer Sh!tpigeons.

I hate the sh!itpigeons, I hate their bandwagon fans, and I hate their gum chomping coach.  The outcome of this game sets the tone for the rest of the season.

Packers are practicing in Seattle tomorrow which will be a glorified walk through after a limited walk through today after being flexed to a later Sunday start. I’m assuming Seattle is probably planning the same after a later Sunday start on the road but at least in the same time zone.

This game has injuries written all over it.

This Thursday shit has to end.

I think if they insist on continuing Thursday games that they should all follow bye weeks. At the very least for the visiting team. In that case the home team should have a home game the prior week.

Thursday night football has always been a bad idea. There is no logistical justification for it. The NFL threw bye weeks at fans to make them think Thursday football might work. You can’t schedule Thursday night games for teams with a bye in week 3 because no one has a bye in week 2. So that idea is never happening. Try selling a bye in week 14 to a team.

Thursday football was always been a bad idea. It will always be a bad idea.

They fell in love with Thanksgivings day game ratings.  "Let's make thanksgiving every week!!".  Smartest guy in the room.

They should also consider keeping the Thursday games to teams within the same time zone, usually division games.

I totally agree with everyone here that TNF just sucks in every way.  There have been some quality games on TNF but far and away most of the time the game isn't that good.  I know NFL teams don't travel like the schlubs we are but still having them turn around quickly and fly 4 hours is kind of insane.

Found on the internet: The Seahawks are an average team. They’ve beaten Dallas (4-5), Arizona (2-7), Oakland (1-8) and Detroit (3-6). They’ve lost to Denver (3-6), Chicago (6-3), the Los Angeles Rams twice (9-1) and the Los Angeles Chargers (7-2). They’ve lost twice at home. When they lose, they give up big gains on the ground — only the Bears didn’t run for at least 140 yards — and the Packers may have found their new offense in giving Aaron Jones the ball and playing off of his success. On a short week and with the passing game still operating in fits and spurts, it makes sense to continue to load up in multiple tight end sets and establish Jones. And under Mike Pettine, the Packers have turned into one of the league’s best pass-rushing teams (31 sacks) with 15 different players recording at least a half sack. Wilson has been brought down 29 times already, including eight times in the last two weeks.

Ball

Defining stat: 5.01. The Seahawks are allowing 5.01 yards per rush. That's the fourth-highest mark in the NFL, and it would be Seattle's worst of the Pete Carroll era by more than a half-yard if the season ended today. End-arounds and fly sweeps have given Seattle particular trouble in two losses to the Rams and one to the Chargers. The Seahawks' defense has been better in several areas that many would have expected given all the turnover from last season, but this hasn't been one of them. -- Brady Henderson

Mike has  scripted the first 15, 12 passes, 3 Williams runs.

The Packers announced that King, Cobb, Brice and Perry would not travel to Seattle with the team Tuesday. They conceivably could receive more treatment and then fly out to Seattle in time for the game, though it seemed unlikely.
