The sooner they admit to how they misjudged the roster, the sooner the Vikings can carve out a way to head in the right direction. But it’s difficult for decision-makers to cop to that level of honesty when their own jobs hang in the balance.

The Vikings aren’t at rock bottom, but they need to shift their focus toward 2021. Soon enough their actions could reflect the notion of the word they refuse to utter.

Hate this team.

Hate their fans.

Hate that stupid stapler stadium.

The Packers have themselves a shut down CB:

@RobDemovsky
Without Kevin King on the other side, CB Jaire Alexander was targeted only one time in 48 coverage snaps (per Pro Football Focus) and broke up the pass, a fourth-quarter throw to Will Fuller
@BenFennell_NFL
#Packers converting 3rd & long (6+ yards) 2nd best in the NFL... Solid improvement from being 18th last year, and 24th in 2018. 1. Buffalo 50.0% 2. Green Bay 41.7% Packers offense converted 3rd & 9, 3rd & 10, 3rd & 7 situations yesterday vs Houston

The main reasons I won’t give the Pack a 100% chance at victory this week are Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson.  If Cook is healthy, he’s a pain in the ass for our D to handle.

About the only good thing the Vikes have done recently is draft Jefferson.  He looks fantastic for a rookie, arguably they got the best WR in a draft loaded with good ones.

Keep those 2 guys under control, the Pack should win easily.  Thelen of course is a really good steady WR as well, but I think a healthy Cook and Jefferson are more explosive and can put some pressure on the Pack’s D.

See the 2 posts at 4/5 above yours.

What are the odds they actually play Cook? Losing is the smartest move for them and they already shut down Hunter and traded his replacement. I wouldn't play him unless he was absolutely 100%.

Put Jaire on Jefferson and a team effort on Thielan. Game over.

@RobDemovsky: The Packers are bringing in veteran WR Seth Roberts, who was released by the Panthers earlier today. A source said the plan is to sign him to the practice squad initially. Roberts has 183 career receptions (15 TDs) for the Raiders, Ravens and Panthers. He played in all seven of Carolina's games this year with just four catches for 31 yards.

When you draft in the top half of the first round every year, one would hope you'd be able to find a solid player when your pick comes around. The Packers have picked near the bottom of every draft, in the first round, for the past 20 years, because they were pretty good, in that season. Picking in the top half, of the first round, means you either traded up to get there, or that you really sucked. Living close to the Minnesota border,  I can hear the sound of the Purple Hoover sucking the life out of any play-off chances or for any winning season hopes, the vikings may have had. Skol! Packers 35 vikings 17. Isn't that Jaymo above?

The Vikings are now on record saying that Rudolph, Reiff, Everson Griffin, Anthony Harris, and Harrison Smith are available.  Maybe Thielen too.

That can’t be good for the locker room or for team morale.

Given their cap issues their best play may be a complete tear down to accumulate picks and tank this year to maximize draft position.

Which all makes for an interesting scenario this week in GB.  No one will ever come out and admit they are trying to lose (tank), but at 1-5 and in looking at their remaining schedule how many more wins do you see?  Realistically, I see maybe 2 or 3.   They will find a way to beat Detroit once, probably beat Jacksonville, and likely defeat the Cowboys.  That’s about it.

For the Packers this week, if they can punch MN in the face early and jump out to a 10-14 point lead I expect the Queens to fold.  These games are usually pretty competitive but man they looked really bad against an equally disappointing ATL team.

Thielen is a poor man's Jordy Nelson. He's good (very good at times), not great, and hasn't been great without a star opposite him. Of course there's an issue of who is throwing to him, but I'm not sure I would give up picks for him. If we're going for it an acquiring another receiver I would rather they pursue a starter at Slot receiver. Lazard will be back, Adams is fine, but a sneaky Wes Welker type would be outstanding in this scheme. Wish they had held on to Randall Cobb honestly, he would be killer in this scheme. In the end though MLF has proven himself adept at scheming receivers open regardless of their talent level, so as long as they can catch and run then I think the offense will continue to hum.

I don't want any Vikings scraps. If they want to sell of Kendricks for cheap then great, doubt they would do that though. He's about the only one I would take.

You said it @Grave Digger - "hasn't been great without a star opposite him."

Well look across the field. If you think DC's are afraid of the Packer offense now, what do you think they'll be with a LEGIT #2 WR?!?! Rodgers hasn't had that since 2010-2011 a decade ago.

The Packers have a real shot at this thing in 2020. I don't GAF about "mortgaging the future" anymore. A 4th rounder for Theilen is a fair trade. Doubt they'd get much more than that from ANY team. He's 30 years old.

MVS is a swell blocker. yayyyy Let's get a real WR please!

Lazard us OK but Thielen is really good.  Not to mention he always seems to play well against GB.

MVS is the modern day Corey Bradford.  Can run like the wind, but you can’t count on him for jack shit.

Damn, they are trying to trade someone on the Cowboys roster? That's a next level move right there.

I don't want the Spermheads near the top of the draft.  Sure I want them to suck but I don't want them anywhere near being able to pick Lawrence, Fields, or the QB from North Dakota State.

I want them at 7-9 or 8-8.  Bad enough to not make the playoffs but not in a position to pick in the top 10.
