Better then what. They lost Harvin who was their 2nd best player.

Jennings at this stage in his career is no Harvin

They have a good WR, who won't create problems in the locker room. Moreover, they have a competition at QB, and one of the best RB. Let's not be stupid and think that GJ doesn't make the Vikings a better team.

Not sure I agree with that. Lost Percy (although he may have checked out long ago) and Winfield. Picked up a really good 30yr old WR with a history of injuries and no QB to get him the ball.

I'm no more or less concerned with MN than I was a week ago.
Despite the alleged 10 mil per year offer GB made "a while ago", I just got the feeling GJ really didn't want to be the Prodigal Son returning with his tail between his legs.

JJ did it very well and was very humble about the whole thing. Jennings? didn't sense that was him.

He will soon find out Ponder is no Rodgers. And without talent around him like Jordy, JJ and Cobb, he will be doubled all day.

I agree with everything you said, but one thing we'll have to see how it plays out, is him being double teamed? Lots of teams put 8 in the box to stop AP, and if you do that, pretty hard to double team?
That's a good point PR but teams can also play him safety high to take away the deep ball OR opposite and force Ponder to air it out. We're so used to the safety high thing because Rodgers is so damn good downfield.

Ponder? Not so much.

Jennings to the Vikings probably means Jermichael Finley stays with the #Packers. Was told today it was probably an either/or situation.

Jennings loss would hurt, if we didn't have a player on the verge of being a superstar WR waiting in the wings.

Driver was done before he won the mirror ball.

Woodson's veteran presence will be missed, but let's be honest, he's lost a step.

Ponder is Jeff Garcia, good but not good enough

Uh, no

Jennings has always wanted to be courted. It didn't happen in college (he wanted to go to Michigan) and it didn't happen in the pros (he was taken 2nd round by Green Bay).

He got his ring so now he wants to get paid. Good luck to him - I mean that sincerely and with some sarcasm.

The part I will comment on are all the rubes that think free agency is some silver bullet. When has it ever worked in the NFL? Rarely if at all.

People are ripping the Packers for standing pat and I say let them gripe and complain and criticize. We have TT and they don't so **** em.
I agree with your point about hero worship regarding Favre, but this is really a different situation. Jennings didn't orchestrate his way out of GB to sign with the Vikings, in an attempt to screw the Packers. He was a free agent who wanted more money than the Packers were willing to pay, and it so happened the Vikings had a desperate need at WR.

I have no ill will towards Jennings at all. I'll root like hell against him on Sundays, but this is a business.
Again, think of all the feature backs over the last decade or so

Shaun Alexander, Larry Johnson, Edgerrin James, Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, Curtis Martin, Tomlinson.

Of those guys only a couple played about 10 years at a high level

Peterson already has 6 years under his belt and with his running style I doubt he'll last even that long.

Now, take a look at Rodgers. What are the odds he'll play another 5+ years? Pretty good I think. Those are things that Jennings should be thinking about but maybe not. It's truly about the $$ and that's his call I guess.
