The Vikes would have scored the tying TD even if they had no TOs left. On our drive in question, we ran on first down, 2 minute warning stopped the clock, if we had run 2 more times they would have called immediate TOs and gotten the ball back with a little more time than they did since the 2 passing plays probably took a couple seconds more than two runs stuffed at the LOS. They only used one TO at the 37 second mark on our 22 yard line and then scored the TD on the next play.

Glad of your certainty. Try this one. The Vikes would have used their last timeout during their "certain to happen" scoring drive, meaning they wouldn't have been able to call timeout to ice Crosby on that first field goal try. So, even in your scenario, Packers win!
The post was in response to all those experts railing on MM for not running the ball & making them use their TOs .
How about running the ball with Mercedes Lewis to help on the blocking?
We were not going to get a First down with Vikes playing "run", what happened on first down would have happened on second & Third also. The correct call was going for the TD & Adams should have had one.
MM was in "diyd, diyd" (danged if you do, danged if you don't) land. Go for the TD and hit it and you're a genius; miss it and run and you're a fool for letting them call the TOs quickly. If Adams clings to that ball, it's an easy win and everyone sings MM's praises for having the balls to go for it. Running, they leave the Vikes with a little more time.
Personally, I would have run and brought in Lewis. Yes, they know you're going to run (unless you really want to put yourself out there and pass to Lewis or take a chance on another WR). By running you force them to use their TOs and don't leave them the one at 37 and the icer.
But what if on the that 0 TO final Vikings march, Clay Matthews hit Cousins forcing him to throw an INT? Ya never know what happens if the flow of events is shifted in time by the slightest amount.
