Fearing Sam Shields is too short to cover Alshon Jeffery the Packers sign Manute Bol to play CB. Packer fans go completely ape-schit about the signing, claiming how could anyone who played in the NBA possibly know anything about playing defense...?!?!

They were right. Also Manute Bol doesn't like to run.

Bears - 63

Packers - 48

I don't have my finger on the pulse of the network for dead celebs and sports heroes (pun intended). It does explain why Manute Bol doesn't like to run & jump though.

As always I will defer to your obvious expertise in all things dead.

Too much talent on the offensive side of the ball for it to not eventually emerge. Offense comes out of its funk and combines with an improving defense for the victory.

Didn't know where to post this.....hope it hasn't been already.

Green Bay - The following is a summary of coach Mike McCarthy's post-practice press conference Thursday (the injury report is listed first):

INJURY REPORT

  • WR Jarrett Boykin - knee - full
  • LB Nick Perry - wrist - limited
  • CB Davon House - knee - full
  • LB Brad Jones - thigh - limited
  • LB Clay Matthews - groin - limited
  • OT Bryan Bulaga - knee - full

MIKE MCCARTHY

  • (On Clay Matthews) Took his individual reps and looked good. I don't have a bead on his availability yet.
  • (On Nick Perry) He practiced today. Did some good things in practice.
  • (On no Hester) He's a great returner. Impacted some of our games in the past.
  • (On Bears return) They look good. Good speed.
  • (On playing in Chicago in Fall) I've always looked at Chicago series one in decent and one in bad. You have these type of rivalry games where you play isn't as big of a factor. With the old staff distinct differences in the way they played in warm weather vs. cold weather.
  • (On Cutler) He's playing well. Marc's a good coach. He's doing a great job.
  • (On House) Just shown consistency. I thought he arrived last training camp when you thought he was going to jump up and contribute. He's now doing it on a more consistent basis. Really like the way he tracks the receiver.
  • (On Bears receivers) Big receivers. That's a big challenge when you face those guys.
  • (On WRs getting open) We've played three games, had two games not to standard offensively that we've played. Grading players in media is not something I do. I think our receiver group is getting better. I think our offense needs to keep getting better.
  • (On McCarthy's job) We're 1-2. Offensively, we're not playing well.
  • (On tough starting fast) I could say things, but they would sound at excuses. There's things we haven't clicked on.
  • (On Peppers) He's definitely he's been everything I thought he would be. It's not about he playing faster, it's about how they play together. How things fit together. You just need reps. Why do a lot of the drills. We're still developing. Still a young team. Trying to get everybody coordinated together.

And that's it for McCarthy. We'll have updates from assistant coaches and players later this afternoon.

and forgot to say.....another horrible loss.... GB 23  -  Bears 35   They remember the Packers knocked them off the last game of the season last year....and they're going to be hot.  JMHO, and I hope I'm soooooooooooooooo  wrong.

Bears 38-30

Dam starts to leak...Like your mom - too many holes not enough fingers.

Packers stock shares drop big time Monday morning on the exchanges.

At least I got tickets to the Panther-Packer game for my birthday ! Theyll still be

mathematically alive!

MM made a comment that lining up CM3 in the same position makes it easier on the offense.

Saw a stat today the GB has run offensive plays from their Zebra formation (3 WRs, 1 TE, 1RB) 78.4% of the time this year.

That does sound like talking out both sides of your ass.

Got to start changing things up this week.

Product of the no-huddle, fewer substitutions.

I get the no huddle has led to almost 80% of the plays being run from the same formation.

What I don't get is running an offense with almost 80% of the plays being run from the same formation.

Im sure it's not lost on anyone that the Packers longest play of the year (80 yards to Jordy) was run out of a 2TE big set with PA.

MM has forgotten more football knowledge than I'll ever acquire. But damn he can be maddening at times.

MM knows what he's doing and Dom Capers doesn't?

Pack first three opponents all tied for 1st in rush D giving up 2.8 YPC. Not necessarily weighed down by Packer games as GB outperformed the average against each. Bears giving up 5.0 per carry.

GB D only giving up 3.7 per carry against RBs (WR/QB runs excluded) and only 3.06 since Lattimore took over. Bears are dead last in running the ball. (while they've also faced three top 10 run d's, they appear to be a big contributor to their opponents' numbers.)

Getting the Pack running game back on track will do great for the O, and I like the D's chances of minimizing damage in the passing game.

Pack 30-24.

As much as I'd like to pick the Bears in this game, I can't.  After being humbled in Detroit, the Pack should be focused and ready for a dinged-up Bears' team coming off consecutive road games (to both coasts) and a short week of prep.

27-21 Pack.

Then maybe we can prop him up on the sideline and put a clip board in his hands.  We could use a coach who doesn't think to much.

The NFC North standings are all off kilter.  They need balance and correction.  Lions and Bears both lose this weekend.  Parity says it will happen.  It's the Packers "turn" to win.

The Vikings will also lose, but not because of parity, but because they suck ass.
