Green Bay 24-13. Game is close for the first half, then Packers get hard earned TD to extend lead to 14. 49ers kick FG to draw within 8...Packers move in and Crosby hits 40 yd field goal to final lead of 11. I expect Gore to get 90 yards rushing, Smith has uneven performance with a TD pass and 2 picks. Green Bay takes advantage of field position for 3 short TD drives. I pray no injuries.
I think we're going to get a snoozer! I'm predicting a lot of field goals. Green Bay had a solid red zone TD allowed % at Lambeau last year (48%) and San Fran had solid RZ TD allowed % on the road (50%). These teams will tighten up and David Akers and Mason Crosby will wear out their legs.

Each offense drops 14 on the opposing defense, but Mason Crosby wins the FG battle with 4 FGs to Akers 2.

At some point we'll see a Bush with a raging case of VD as Davis gets behind him for a 62-yard score. In fact VD infects the entire stat line as he goes off for 11 catches and 152 yards, setting up four David Akers field goals. AJ Hawk becomes even less popular.

Randy Moss suits up but the team caterer drills him in the melon with a tri tip roast for being a whiny beyotch and he goes out with a concussion.

The rest of the Niners' offense in MiA but the defense plays stout giving up two TDs on long, hard-fought drives and two Mason Crosby field goals, one early, one late but Alex Green breaks a screen pass late for a game-sealing TD.

Green Bay 27-19.
I think the game will stay close in the first half. Lots of emotion. Emotion can keep things close for a while. Vernon Davis makes some problems for our defensive personnel. I do not see much other problems with the Niners' WRs. As good as the Niner defense is, Packers find a way to get the lead going into halftime.

The Niners are not built to play from behind. The Saints game aside, the Niners want to run and play solid defense. If the Packers get ahead it will make it very difficult to win.

First game of the year is the hardest one to predict, we have a poor idea about how the teams has changed since last year. The two key changes I think for the teams are Newhouse and Moss. If Newhouse can not protect Rodgers Blind side I think the Packers will have turnover problems. If Moss is the Moss of old the Packers will have trouble with SF passing game.
I hope Newhouse is an OK tackle and Moss is the Moss we have come to love over the past couple of season. Then the game is not close Packers 51 SF 24
I'll bet McCarthy gives a heavy dose of no-huddle. This is the best game of the year to do it. Coming out of training camp, not everyone is up to game speed and conditioning. Make that vaunted SF D run ragged.

SF was looking to upgrade from Alex Smith and they're still stuck with him. Randy Moss won't make a mediocre QB good at this stage of his career.

The D will have trouble with Vernon Davis, no doubt. I'm concerned about run D as well. Need Raji and Pickett ready to go.

Pack 27 SF 17.
San Fran has upgraded at WR but they still have Alex Smith throwing the ball. There is a reason the 49ers tried to get Peyton Manning. They don't like him. The defense will be as tough as the Giants game was but hopefully the WR and Rbs hold onto the ball this time. Rodgers did not look great in the preseason but I bet he is on fire Sunday afternoon. Packers roll. 31 to 13.

have an uneasy feeling about this one. maybe its the colon parasite,
but the niners are gonna have success running the ball and I could
easily see their D forcing multiple fumbles

Hoping a big win will make those Giant game nightmares finally go away

yikes....I guess I should buy some lottery tickets.
