I really don't care anymore. and if he'll be available for the last 8 games of the year or whatever, and the GBP wants to keep him around cuz he's a big body that they might need, I don't care anymore either. just win.
michiganjoe posted:Puzzling they've stuck with him this long given his meager production. This should be it, but I also said that on the last infraction.
He's a grinder, he clogs running lanes and frees up other defenders to make plays. He'll never make highlight reels, but he reliably clogs running lanes. I hope they can keep him, but I understand if they decide he's too unreliable off the field. 90% of his cap hit this year, which is 3.4 mil, is tied to salary, roster bonuses, and per game bonuses, so there won't be a ton of dead money if they decide to cut him before the opener. I think they're on the hook for less than 1 million total in dead money over the next two years if they decide to cut him now.
It's impossible to keep him at this point. Weed, guns, PED's, DUI's. If GB hangs onto him they are telling the team "Do whatever the **** you want. We really don't care".
At the very least he's missing 8 games. He might be looking missing the entire year.
I'm actually kind of pissed off he hasn't already been cut.
He's apparently very well liked among his teammates, including the QB. Think that may have quite a bit to do with sticking with him this long, although I'd be really shocked if this isn't the end of the line.
I don't think it sends that message to the team if they keep him, I think the bigger issue is paying 3+ million to such an unreliable person. If he's only available for 8-12 games per year because he can't keep it under control then the team will move on to someone they can count on for 16 games.
He should be fresh for the stretch run and won't count against the roster till then. Win-win.
Now if the Packers can just get him a life coach to help him keep his head out of his ass.
Good plan Packerboi.

Leash? What leash?

I think it is to close to call.
Forgot about the cap implications outlined above.
in his defense, his BA number was barely above .08, it was his birthday, he was in Hawaii, it was 4 a.m..... I could go on and on...

Let's get The Wizard on it.
Pakalolo rocks!
He has enough money to afford to have someone else drive.

And he was stupid, dumb and dumber. Only you would defend his behavior.

What? It was a rental car. Don't you dare.
You don't drive rentals hard?
I smell Seinfeld.....
Maybe Seinfeld will call it a "Guion Mess".
Plusses --Great teammate, very loyal to coaching staff, & gives a great effort.
Minuses- average to below average player, we only played 2 interior d-lineman for majority of snaps last season, we've added 4 d-lineman in the past 2 years, he is drawing negative attention to the organization
......I don't see how we keep him.

Was meant in jest.... rationalizing....
[SARCASM ALERT ON] It is just difficult to be humorous on this forum at times. [SARCASM ALERT OFF] At least I think I said that with the intended meaning. We will see. I got your post YA, but I couldn't think of a clever way to build on it. As it turned out ammo showed us the more direct way.
Were you being sarcastic?
It's not difficult to be humorous if you're funny like me.
There's a guy who gets it.

It's so easy to say it was meant in jest when called out. If I hadn't posted what I did I"m pretty sure we never would have known what you meant.
I still don't know.
I haven't known for years. What are we talking about?
Love that scene with Joe Pesci. Won him the Oscar.

Could've sworn we were discussing Guion's recent troubles.
But then somebody feels the need to feign righteous indignation and declare he has the bigger dick, and another thread goes straight to hell.
Really Timmy? You used to like my posts.
He saw you were lying about having the bigger dick, apparently.
They don't call me Lil' Sizzler for nothing.
You should really see a doctor about that sizzling issue by the way.
Channeling Iowacheese...
"Per WTMJ, the Green Bay Packers have released Dum Dum DT Letroy Guion".

Release of Guion saves the Packers about $3 million. Team is now close to $22 million under the salary cap.
Thank god we still have Goodson

Great, now who is going to be our backup offensive lineman?
