i'll believe it when I see him spraying the water in his hair.
Looks like the Packers are going to have everyone but Hayward (and he may be a possibility now), Starks and Van Roten. Not having Burnett obviously was hurting the secondary, and the defense as a whole instantly went to hell after Matthews went out against the Bengals. No excuses this week, absolutely none. The bye week couldn't have possibly come at a better time.

I will believe it when the Snippets tell me it is so.
No Calvin Johnson, no Chris Houston.
Not time to sound the horns. But not a good sign either heading into the Detroit Lions' showdown Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Associated PressThe star receiver and starting cornerback missed their second consecutive practice Thursday. Johnson has a knee injury, per the team's Wednesday practice report, and Houston has yet to return to the field since sustaining a hamstring injury last week against the Bears.
Johnson takes regular days off at this stage of his career, but rarely on Thursdays, and rarely twice in a row. He was seen in the locker room Wednesday with a wrap on his knee.
Detroit already is down two starting receivers in Nate Burleson (broken forearm) and Patrick Edwards (high ankle sprain), and signed receiver Kevin Ogletree this week to replenish depth.
Houston is "day-to-day, week-to-week," according to coach Jim Schwartz, and his outlook continues to diminish for playing against the Packers.
If he's unable to go, Rashean Mathis likely would slide from right to left side corner and struggling rookie Darius Slay would start on the right side.
Linebacker Ashlee Palmer also missed Thursday's practice.
Im assuming CJ plays on Sunday but Houston being out would be significant for the Lions. Rodgers would throw all day at Slay.
just read that the Lions are very good on 3rd down
Damn shame that the Packers offense has the fewest 3rd downs per game of any team in the league this year.
You can look it up
http://www.teamrankings.com/nf...third-downs-per-game
What's even cooler is that GB is number 2 in the league in First downs/ game
http://www.teamrankings.com/nf...first-downs-per-game
Lots of 1st and few 3rds is the sign of a very efficient offense....
Imagine how good they would be if MM knew how to call a game

"I'll be out there this Sunday," Matthews said after practice.
One thing I don't think anyone has mentioned. It's going to be a pretty sloppy track on Sunday (it appears).
I wonder if Lacy is a mudder? I always loved watching Edgar on rainy/cruddy fields, IMO one of the best mudders ever!
It should make for a fun game to watch
The forecast today only shows 20% chance of rain and 56 for a temp.
Linebackers really need to step up.

3-4 needs playmakers at LB. Our DL and secondary are good enough.
Id like to start seeing some plays from Perry.
I think Hawk and Jones are just corns in the poop
Wondering if there are some playmakers buried on the depth chart.

Houston and Johnson both back at practice today.
Doesn't matter if Houston plays if he's not 100%. Rodgers will exploit him, pick at him like a scab.
Not impressed with Detroit's secondary at all. The issue will be how the OL holds up and if they can give AR sufficient time to pick them apart.
#Packers injury report: Burnett probable; Bush probable; Finley probable; Franklin probable; Kuhn probable; Lacy probable; Matthews probable
Mike Vandermause @MikeVandermause
Van Roten, Starks out
McCarthy: Fully expect Clay Matthews to play.
MM: Burnett looked good. Yesterday was one of our better padded practices.
MM: Returns will be situational. Looking at Frankling, Hyde and Cobb, game plan situation.
MM: Monday will be big day for Casey Hayward, coming back from hamstring injury.
MM: Reggie Dunn talented young man.
MM: We won't put anyone back there we aren't comfortable handling football, on returns.
MM: Past success 13-1 against Lions, I don't like talking about it. It's credit to our players and coaching staff.
MM: I look at Lacy and Franklin both as 3-down backs. How reps sort out, that's why you play the game.
MM: This is Lions' best team as far as coming into game, as I recall. Very talented, very systematic, best I've seen them play.
MM: Kuhn is important member of our football team. We'll see how much he'll be able to go.
MM: Most important thing that happens on bye week is players getting healthy. Ability to step away and come back, urgency heightened.
Here is the PFF preview on the Packers-Lions match-up
https://www.profootballfocus.c...ions-packers-week-5/
"Teams simply can’t run up the middle against the Lions. Opponents have run inside the tackles 32 times for 56 yards this season."
Run Franklin wide to tire them out, run Lacy up the middle to break their will
You don't run at Suh and Fairley with the intent of gaining rushing yards. You do it for the penalty yards. And for the opportunity to untie Suh's shoelaces.
Linebackers really need to step up.

Brad Jones is solid. I think he's played very well so far this year.
to quote my son, I hope to heck we throw some short slants instead of letting AR sit back there forever in the pocket getting sacked! Those quick slants used to be money for us. Let's do that again!
Also would love to see some screeen to Lacy and Franklin to slow down the rush.
Smart DC's are playing our WR's very tight at the line of scrimmage to try and take away quick passes, banking on the fact that our oline will have a difficult time giving AR enough time to complete passes which take longer to develop. I'd like to see some bunch formations to counter this strategy.
Need the right DBs to make press work and I don't think Detroit has them. Best way to slow down the rush is an effective running game. Looking forward to Lacy hopefully having a coming out party.
hypothetically...
if the lions win at LF and the defense collapses (i.e. bush cannot be corralled and manages a boldin-type performance)...
will capers' job be in jeopardy?

No. If he could survive what happened in SF last January, he can survive anything. Think of him as a cockroach with a bad toupee.
3 hours before KO and you're planning coaching changes.
Hypothetically....
If you changed your name to noeeyorepuss your posts would still reek of depression and despair and lack common sense but we'd understand why.
The really, really sad thing is that you come off as a guy that wants GB to lose so you feel better about yourself for predicting failure. That not only makes you the ****tiest kind of fan, it makes anything you post impossible to take seriously.

sorry that i come across that way... not the intent at all.
just frustrated with the team - that's all. they have accomplished a lot but...
giants playoff loss...
3 straight sf losses...
lackluster performances out of the gate 2 year in a row...
just want to avoid a sequel to 'fart in the wind' during arod's prime.
- There’s a bright side to Stafford getting sacked by Packers linebacker Clay Matthews today. Because of his Chunky Soup endorsement, Campbell’s donates 1,000 cans of soup to the opposing city for every sack he gets. Here it would go to the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.
that's pretty cool. I like his chances to get at least a couple vs. Reiff.

Jesus **** you're an idiot...hypothetically
Did I hear correctly? Calvin Johnson is out today.
Heard it too. Johnson is out.
wtf?
Confirmed on NFL Network. Out with the knee injury that he had coming into the week.
One less player to key on. Down to Bush and Pettigrew if true.
That's huge if Johnson can't go.
Oh, well pardon us for the mistake. We were confused by the constant sopping vaginal discharge you post here only to disappear when the Packers play well. You're just misunderstood.

So what's your plan besides pissing all over the place and slinking away when the team puts it together? Discussing football with your ilk is pointless because you can't/won't look at the all the segments of the team and focus purely on what you want to quibble about. Everybody has concerns, try to be a smarter fan and talk about the whole game and team instead of smearing **** all over the place.
It's up on ESPN now...Inactive.
Should the Lions S & T coach be fired?

This just in. POSopus is a factual idiot.
