Live or die by the long ball

With tellez you have to play long ball. He can't hit to left and when they put the shift on him anything hit on the ground to the right side is an out.   And I wouldn't say they only need homers to score because in several wins they didn't have any.  But when you get them it is great.   Also they are not striking out a ton, many of the guys shorten up with 2 strikes.

You’re right Ammo, home runs are an important way to beat the shift, and yes, games have been won with walk off singles, wild pitches, bases loaded with walks. And as long as the homers are coming I’m happy as a happy clam.

The inevitable drought of the long ball is what concerns me.

It has been way to long since we had a good "they need to choke up more" discussion.
