Make the Reds Blue With Envy Thread

Finally getting Hoskins and Bauers down in the order where they belong.   Just need to get Turang jump started again. 

Crew up 3-0 in first after Adames HR. That was after a couple of walks. Murphy's Maulers strike again.

Now 4-0 after a Bauers single with a guy on.

Edit now 6-0, cant keep up with how it occurred.

Edit : Turang HR made it 6-0

Keep on pounding them guys!!

And they did. Bauers single, Ortiz double scores Bauers, and Turang homer makes it 6 - 0 Crew!!!!   

Frelick triple scores another, now 8-0, Frelick made it 7-0 on a triple, Hoskins single made it 8-0

In the last 30 innings at bat the Brewers have scored in 19 of those innings.  That is nearly unbelievable.

What has gotten into this offense? The boys have been eating their Wheaties.

42 runs scored in the last 32 innings. Holy crap.

Brewer pitchers did a good job on De Lay Cruz.  Keep him off the bases and it really limits Reds ability to score. He really puts pressure on pitchers.

A 6:10 CT start for today's game

Tobias on the mound today, here's the pitcher comparison as they both have fairly similar stats:

Good news:    Trevor Megill will throw a bullpen session Saturday. 

Saturday will mark Megills first time throwing off a mound since a lower back injury forced him onto the injured list near the end of July.

Myers beginning to look like a #1 ace.  If they keep it up Myers and Rea can hang with anybody in the playoffs.   New high in strike outs for him with 9.

I guess our offense is tired from running around the bases so much the last four games?

Somebody for the Brewers needs to hit a home run.

What a job by the Brewer pitchers!!  13 strike outs and 0 walks!!!  They have completely stymied De La Cruz which is a major key to beating the Reds. 

And better yet the Royals are beating the Cards 6 = 2 in the 7th.

So nice to have D Williams back!

A win is a win is a win. A big tip of the hat to Tobias Myers and the bullpen. I just wish that Myers had gotten the win.

Tied for the fourth-best record in baseball now at 67-49 (.578).

Royals beat the Cards 8 - 3.  Brewers now with an 8 game lead.

1.5 games separates the 3 Div leaders. Good times!

Any win is a good win, got to get them any way you can.

Going for the sweep, ESPN gives the Crew a 62.3% chance of winning.

Yep, .5 behind the mighty Dodgers and 1.5 behind Philly. I thought Philly was going to run away with the #1 seed.

With Ortiz' solid play, would be great if Hall can earn a spot in the rotation.  Would soften the blow of the one-year-rental Burnes trade tremendously.

Anybody know why the Cubs and St. Louis are not playing today?

Adames’ defense and Hall’s wildness lead to 2 runs.  Tied up through 4.

Brewers pitching their cheap, reclamation projects at the bottom of their bullpen today after Hall went out (Ross and Mears). Still doing well enough to keep it close.

Another double play ground ball ends the 8th inning for the Brewers.

Contreras ejected as well.

Brewers appear to be completely overmatched against Diaz. Two strikeouts to start the bottom of the ninth. One foul ball on the 6 strikes.

Ortiz lines out to end it.

Tough loss, but overall can't complain about taking 2 of 3.

Brewers hit into inning-ending double plays in 3 of the last 5 innnings.

Murphy had a tough call on when to pull Hall, but may have left him in a a little too long in his first start back as he gives up the HR on his third time facing the Reds order.

The real difference in the game was the first batter of the 4th inning when Adames fielding a ball deep at short and throw one low over to Hoskins. Would have been a great defensive play by Adames to get him and would have required another great defensive play to dig out the throw by Hoskins, but the Brewers have won this year by playing great defense. It didn't happen there, it went as a hit, and after a walk and a HBP, the Reds scored two on a 2-out single.

Well, put the broom back in the closet, no sweep today.

Bring on the Dodgers for the series starting Monday.

Check out the pitching stats of projected starters Stone, Kershaw and Flaherty.  Not exactly murders row the last few games. These guys can be had. 

Sweep them and they are only separated by winning %.
