**** Dunne & **** that article.
I don't GAF how much "truth" there is to it. Dunne has doubled-down on it today because his credibility is at stake.
I believe James Jones. End of story. I'm on to 2019.
"But Boris, what about....."

Boris: I'm on to 2019.....next question.

When you can't even give your own mother the chance to redeem herself, it doesn't say very much about you as a person.
Thank you. My thoughts exactly. The sensitivity about his height, the chip from being passed over till pick # 24, his passive aggressive tendencies, and the fact that he can cut his mother and father out of his life tells me he's a messed up mofo who needs to sack up, be a leader and play to the level of the contract he's been blessed with.
Maybe his parents are assholes.
Win games. The only reason this dysfunction irritates me is because it caused the Packers to not win games.
Who gives a shit about the other personal crap. Grab a National Enquirer and cluck like a bunch of hens.
And quit spamming this site with national ****stick morons who know even less.

I don't think he's estranged from his parents anymore. Also we don't know anything about the situation, just what his sniveling douche of a brother Jordan has said. To draw conclusions about a man's personality from almost zero credible information is not fair.
Yes he is. Sent a cryptic message about spending time with his โfolks โ. No one knows who those folks are, because his parents were not among them.
Bill Michaels had some interesting conversations today...

Chickenboy's parents are definitely assholes for not choosing abortion.
Damn.
It's amazing that for a couple years at least, the Packers were utterly incompetent at president and CEO, head coach, head of personnel, defensive coordinator, and assuming his scheme would also have been stale, offensive coordinator.
What a joke of a train wreck.

Yep, I have very little doubt of that. I'm sure there's a fair amount of sensationalism and some facts twisted a little but it was a mutual shit show.
I wonder if MM would take back his little interview now if he could. He opened up a huge ass can of worms that no one should have heard about for at least another 10-15 years. Oh well, it's his career to destroy.

1. Stop pretending like you know anything about the situation. All we know is what his douchebag brothers have said and some brief quotes from his parents merely confirming the situation. If you want to take his brothers word for it thatโs fine, but they have both consistently shown themselves to be attention whores, especially Jordan.
2. He said he spent his birthday with his folks. That means he was with his parents. Who says theyโre with โtheir folksโ when they donโt mean their parents? Not that it really matters, but heโs clearly not estranged from his parents any longer. Not that it would really matter, we again donโt know anything about the situation making it ridiculous to draw any conclusions about his personality or values. Maybe his mom tried to cut his head off? Maybe his parents had a threesome with an old girlfriend on his bed? Maybe they stole money from him? There are a million things that would justify estrangement from a family member.
Can somebody please recap - do we like McCarthy or not? And do we still like Rodgers?
There are hardly "a million things" that would justify estrangement from your parents. I'm guessing the number of thirtysomethings that don't communicate at all with their parents is very, very low. This doesn't have to say something about AR's personality, but it probably does. Then again, as long as he returns to greatness next season, I don't give a crap what he does or how he acts away from the field.
So if Murphy called Rodgers to tell him about hiring LaFleur and the moment of silence and the "don't be the problem" comment came out, I'm guessing the phone call was between the two of them right ? How does this info come out, we know it didn't come from AR, did Murphy blab ? Was someone else in the Packer front office present for the call ? Correct me if I missed this info in Dunne's 8000 word story.
One thing we know for sure, the "named" sources in Dunnes story all had an axe to grind...Findley and Jennings are known douchenozzles.....except Grant who didn't put AR in a negative light. One thing I wonder, were the other "un-named sources" also weasels with an axe to grind ? For some reason I picture Elliot Wolf as the previous scout....obvious axe to grind. Winston Moss ?
Winston Moss for sure.
This entire discussion is Stoooooopid. It's in the past & you cannot change it. Move along because people with nothing to lose & everything to gain are the "sources".

My biggest takeaway from Tyler Dunneโs excellent unpacking of the Packers/Rodgers/McCarthy/Thompson story is this: Mike McCarthy is going to have to work hard, and repair his tarnished image significantly in the next nine months, to have a real shot at a head-coaching job in 2020. With the broadsides heโs taken since getting fired by the Packers late last season, McCarthy has a chance to be Brian Billickโa Super Bowl-winning coach damaged so much late in his tenure that he never got a chance to coach another team.
Probably written while slurping Favre.
My own view is the game in Seattle as well as how the team functioned without AR probably did more to damage MM than Dunne's piece.
I think the fact that he doesn't have a winning record without a franchise QB hurts him more than anything. He will be back on the sidelines next season though, NFL teams love nothing more than reheating leftovers. Some (or multiple) team will bank on him having a career resurgence like Andy Reid. I hope he does, he's a Packer HOFer and a good coach.

If only MM, Bostick, Peppers and Dom would have scheduled massages for the last 5 minutes of that game.....

It will difficult for him to find another NFL job now because even if the front office of a team wanted to hire him, the fan base would throw a fit and keep referring to this article.
I think he's a good, but not great, coach. His strength is his consistency and loyalty to his assistants and players. His weakness is his consistency and loyalty to his assistants and players.
I think he'd make a really good college coach if he wanted to go that route. If I was a parent I'd have no problem sending my kid to play for him. His system would work well in college because you do have to make things a little simpler there. He's good at the administrative aspects in terms of organizing a plan from training camp to weekly planning.

Bostick is such a central player in all this and is example of where the TT/MM philosophies killed them. If Bostick blocks his guy, then GB heads to another Super Bowl and everything looks completely different after that. No one has disputed the statements in the article that people though Bostick should have been cut months before that because he wasn't assignment sure. If that was the case, why didn't Slocum sound the alarm and get him off the onside kick unit? Did TT not know about his issues? If he did, why not move on and get another bottom the roster guy to play special teams?
On a side note, I genuinely feel bad for Bostick. The guy has taken a lot of crap for his mistake. It was a bad mistake, but A LOT of guys really had crappy moments at the very end of that game. His was most symbolic because he could have erased all the other f-ups that led to that point and happened afterwards, but that 1 play was far from the only reason the Pack lost.

What ALWAYS kills me is the sideline video with SLOCUM yelling "If your name's not Jordy Nelson I don't want you touching the ball." How much more direct can you make the coaching?
The companion to that is the still photo of Bostick on the ground, Jordy Nelson standing above him arms outstretched in disbelief.

The future of MM is a very interesting one to say the least. If he wants to coach again a portion of the fanbase may throw a fit but I bet most of them will look at his track record of winning. All this would depend upon the fan base of course. I think the fans of a team that have suffered for awhile might be more willing to look past it than a team that has had recent success.
I think Grave Digger is right in that the NFL loves to recycle coaches with much less success than MM has had and I would bet some teams may think of him in the same way that Andy Reid is thought about. Not saying that is the right way to think just that it takes only one GM to think that way.
I wonder if Pittsburgh might be a potential landing spot for him. MM seems to like stability and there is no team that likes stability as much as the Steelers do. I don't think it would ever happen but you never know.
Packers cut assisgnment-sure Ryan Taylor and kept Bostik. To me the fake FG was a team/coaching mistake and much bigger than the individual mistake of Bostick. Oh, and you need to score more than six points off five turnovers with a trip to the SB on the line.

If Wilson played even an average game, Seattle would have crushed the Packers. Their defense was dominant. Six points off 5 turnovers with Rodgers as your QB?
Worst Packer game of all time, in my opinion and it's not close.
I don't think the article or a fanbase will factor into another team's decision, Doug Marrone got rehired and he had a much tougher exit than MM. Fans will wear the rose colored glasses that they also do, they will see him as the next Andy Reid and expect a resurgence.

Wilson DIDN'T play an average game because it was Dom Capers' finest hour as a DC. They had that team beaten until AJ Hawk got too much playing time on special teams and as a replacement for Clay Matthews.
No doubt Bostic disobeyed orders but ffs he should have caught the ball. It was an easy catch for anyone, much less a professional football receiver.
It was right in his hands!

The first six drives of that game were 1 TD, 3 Field goals on 4th and 1, and 2 interceptions when they were in FG range. I still get angry about this part of it which almost never gets brought up.
1st Drive. Interception on 3rd and 10 from the Seattle 29. 0 points.
2nd Drive ends at the 1. 1st quarter; First and goal from the 7 - Lacy 6 yards. Second and goal from the 1. Kuhn for no gain (originally a TD, reversed on replay). Lacy for no gain. Field goal
3rd drive ends at the 1. 1st quarter. First and goal from the 7. Drive ends at the 1. Field goal
4th Drive. TD
5th Drive. Ends at Seattle 22 after 3 runs and they kick a FG on 4th and 1.
6th Drive. Rodgers interception on 1st and 10 at Seattle 33.
Trust zero that comes out of Gerg's mouth about #12. He is, and always will be an embittered twat because the Packers refused to pay him like he was Jerry Rice.

But they DID offer him too much, like $11 million a year, would've been TT's worst contract offer since AJ Hawk or Brad Jones.
