At least all of these QBs give Fickell and McIntosh some ammo to package something for a nice third round pick.
Couldnβt expect a more polar opposite approach right now with Badgers and Packers. Fickell and staff seem to be all in on improving the talent and roster.
4 of the 6 highest rated QBs in school history brought on board over the last month.

Mertz ruined the legitimacy of the list.

I like Fickellβs quantity and quality philosophy
Competition is good but it's hard to believe all of these QBs are coming to Wisconsin. I think that's 4 new QBs coming in, 3 with 4 years of eligibility, and a HS SR coming in next season. As Badger fans we are definitely in uncharted waters. The old philosophy was bring one QB in each year. I like this much better.
Might as well add an all American kicker via the portal too
Funny that Mertz went three years with no competition
sad funny
The guys on the bottom of the list are the ones that made pro rosters. On a side note I saw Deacon Hill changed his destination from Fordham to Iowa.

I can't. I read where it said to expect more signings today. How about a WR or a TE? It doesn't hurt to ask, the way Fickell is signing guys he just might oblige.
Guerendo chose Louisville.
Finally.
Cincinnati transfer wide receiver Will Pauling commits to Wisconsin
Georgia is giving up football, doesnβt see a path to the title game.
The hits just keep on coming. This player has 4 years of eligibility remaining so it's more like Fickell is building from the ground up through the portal than one year stopgaps. < Cincinnati wide receiver transfer Quincy Burroughs announced his intentions to play for the Badgers in 2023.>

Depth Chart and impact for Oklahoma
Make no mistake, the Oklahoma starting QB in 2022 will be UCF transfer Dillon Gabriel, who has the teamβs confidence as well as that of the coaching staff. Gabriel also has a history of working with Lebby back in his days at UCF However, aside from Gabriel at one point, Evers was the only other scholarship QB on the Soonerβs roster this offseason. That has changed with the additions of JUCO transfer General Booty and Pitt transfer David Beville.
This kid's parents have a sick sense of humor!
It's turning into an overkill. This is reputed to be the top WR the Badgers ever signed. WR was actually one of the Badgers better stocked positions so there is no limit on what Fickell will bring in. I'm looking for TE to be addressed next because that is a very thin group. We could see a RB too. Allen and Mellusi will both be gone after this season so there will be a lot of snaps available in 2024.
I think it's safe to say we're going to some a few of those 50-60 point scores from the Badgers next season and beyond. Green had actually committed to Old Miss through the portal.
Picking up their 13th transfer commitment, the Badgers reeled in Oklahoma State transfer wide receiver Bryson Green on Friday, capping off a monster seven days for the program.
UW beat out Auburn, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and others for Green, who is coming off a sophomore season in which he caught 36 passes for 585 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games for the Cowboys. Green had three 100-yard receiving efforts, including 133 yards and a touchdown in a win over No. 22 Texas in October.
At this rate the roster will consist of 3000 players, 1000 of which will be WRs.
Looks like we may get the axe back!
Especially after poaching the Goophers co-defensive coordinator Paul Haynes to coach our Dbs.

So 999 more than the Packers have.
What is the difference in Ficks recruiting budget and Chystβs recruiting budget
Speculation this one is next

Have to think they need a running back sooner than later too

Can a fellow be βtooβ blessed?
I imagine if you are two blessed, you are having a threesome
Iβm trying to recall a time whereβs thereβs been this much excitement and energy around the football program.
Maybe leading up to Russ Wilsonβs only season or the season following the Orange Bowl win? Seems this is a bigger deal given the amount and quality of transfers arriving in Madison.
Itβs crazy. I would have said this would have been a successful offseason had they just added one or two decent QB and WR prospects but they did that and then some.
Locke and Mordecai? As well as Evers and Mettauer? JFC.
Landing CJ Williams was an absolute coup and now another stud in Bryson Green? Iβm not even talking about guys like Trech and the two Cincy transfers who could get playing time early on.
Time will tell on how this all plays out for the Badgers but thereβs no denying that McIntosh and Fickell and the Chancellor arenβt fucking around. You look at these prospects and transfers and many either came from or were being pursued by some of the blue bloods.
Maybe this is why Harbaugh is looking to bail lol. PJ and the 120 year old in Iowa City were already shitting themselves and the fatty down in Champaign is up to his old tricks aka being himself.
This is the most excitement I've seen in the Badger program and I go back a ways. Besides the recruiting we've seen I think just turning the page on the "3 yards and a cloud of dust" offense has a lot to do with this. The portal appears to be a fluid situation and nothing is etched in stone. We've seen quite a few players change their minds on landing spots, including Green who was heading to one of the Mississippi schools. I look at Marcus Allen. He left, came back, and now he's probably #8 on the depth chart. Why would he stay?
The Badgers have the 4th best rated portal transfer group but two other Big Ten teams are in the top ten and a total of six in the top 20 so we're not the only ones feasting on it.
I don't know if the Badgers can land Berrong but TE is a position that was very unproductive last season and I'm sure Fickell has it high on his shopping list. I think the portal closes in a few days so we could see a flurry this week.

The only thing I can think of is when they finally arrived on the scene and won the Rose Bowl after all of those years wondering in the wilderness.
It is so freaking fun to see that they hired a guy who means business and he is going to get the Badger offense running a wide open system.
One other thing to keep an eye on is Fickell and recruiting the SW Ohio area. By all accounts he has a ton of recruiting connections in this area and trust me there it is a hotbed of talent here.
Some of the best Badgers in the last 30 years have come out of Ohio. Chris Borland and Lee Evans for sure.

The Michigan State game in Tokyo! Thatβs when the Badger football program arrived as a big time program.

I honestly wept with joy. Mind you, I remembered the late-60βs losing streak.

I still have the Badgers Rose Bowl sweatshirt but I would be like Chris Farley doing fat guy in a little coat trying to put it on.
Anyhow, I can remember as a kid growing up in the 70s near GB and pretty much the only time we could see the Badgers was a tape delay on PBS Sunday mornings. And when you saw them they got usually got destroyed.
or going to Don Morton lead Badger games with 15,000 other people
The Badgers are back at it again
Jamal Howard Jr, a 4 star DT from Illinois, has committed to UW.
He had originally expressed interest in the Badgers but was on the fence post Chryst and Leonhard uncertainty. Fickell was able to seal the deal and land a guy that was being heavily pursued by Michigan and LSU and Ole Miss and Miami and Tennessee (among others).
This feels like the defensive equivalent to CJ Williams.
Itβs probably the highest ranked interior DL since Antajj Hawthorne and Howard is big and can move. With Benton moving on, I expect he will come in and contribute right away.
