Usually when I think UW will get blasted they do good. And I think they will get blasted.

I agree, but a tad surprised they’re at hanging with em.  Come on Bucky win this thing.

I've watched Michigan a few times this year. They are well coached and will win a NCAA tournament game or two, but if anyone thinks they are the best team in the country, they're on something.

Well if Bucky can knock them off, that’ll go a long way to indicating Michigan’s not that good.

If Bucky would have played this well against Minnesota, Marquette, and Western Kentucky, they'd still be rated in the top 25.

To be clear, I don't think Happ is much of an NBA prospect, but playing against size isn't his problem.

I also didn't give Bucky much of a chance today.  They were playing to weak of defense and missing shots.

And lastly, I thought the game was over in the last few minutes when Trice had the ball and dribbled and dribbled and dribbled.  I thought for sure this was another lost possession that would give Michigan some Mo.  Dribble, dribble, dribble, no look pass to Ethan for a slam.

Then I knew they would win.

To me there's 3 reasons Happ isn't NBA caliber.   He's not explosive, he isn't as big as many NBA Centers are, and most importantly he can't hit a shot outside of 5 feet.

What makes him a fantastic college player, his ball handling, post moves, and hand eye coordination in terms of steals/blocks are elite for a college Center.  If he could ever develop any sort of outside shot it would make up for his lack of explosiveness and size and give him a chance at the NBA.  But so far, he hasn't shown any hope of ever developing a jump shot.

At around the midpoint of the second half, Happ had been stopped on post moves about 3 or 4 times in a few minutes. After that, he made some adjustments and looked like the fantastic college player that he is.

I agree on the lack of a jump shot. It's perplexing that after 5 years at Madison that he hasn't developed into a guy that could hit outside shots even in the 20-25% range.

Happ is almost the mirror image of Frank Kaminsky in terms of his NBA strengths and weaknesses. Frank is riding the bench for the Hornets now because he is a poor rebounder for his size and they consider him a liability on defense against the stretch 4 types. However, he's very effective at stretching the court from the 3 point line.

Happ would be a decent defender against the stretch 4 types and he's a better rebounder than Kaminsky. But a guy that can't shoot outside of 5 feet has no place in today's NBA. The fact his FT shooting is so bad probably makes scouts project that he's unlikely to improve much from outside.

But Kaminsky will probably find a job somewhere because 3 point shooting from your big guys is a key skill in the NBA right now.
