Should be NFL Coach of the Year by a mile, but won't get it.
Stupid AP probably give it to Harbaugh or Shanahan.

Well, both of these guys did have better regular seasons...
Based on Sunday it sure won't go to Bill O'Brien. IMHO when he did the fake punt he essentially told his defense, "You can't stop them." Took all their confidence away.

That and not going for it and taking the FG. Is he still employed?
Here's some previous NFL Coach of the Year winners.
Maybe, don't be mad that MLF doesn't get lumped into this group...
2018 Matt Nagy Chicago Bears 12-4
2017 Sean McVay Los Angeles Rams 11-5
2016 Jason Garrett Dallas Cowboys 13-3
2015 Ron Rivera (2) Carolina Panthers 15-1
2014 Bruce Arians (2) Arizona Cardinals 11-5
2013 Ron Rivera Carolina Panthers 12-4
2012 Bruce Arians* Indianapolis Colts 11-5
2011 Jim Harbaugh San Francisco 49ers 13-3
2009 Marvin Lewis Cincinnati Bengals 10-6
2008 Mike Smith Atlanta Falcons 11-5
2005 Lovie Smith Chicago Bears 11-5
2004 Marty Schottenheimer San Diego Chargers 12-4
2001 Dick Jauron Chicago Bears 13-3
2000 Jim Haslett New Orleans Saints
I am really curious where McVay's career will go from here. Last year everyone was all about picking new HC's that any kind of association at all with him and this year it's as if he's a ghost.
That's some gold right there Timp
I think Vrabel should get a serious look. As should our guy.
Him too. But was he deserving throughout the season and not just in the playoffs? He got the team to the playoffs but so did 11 other coaches.
MLF has the misfortune of coaching the worst 14-3 ever so he doesn't have much of a chance. "Worst successful coach ever".

McVay's career is almost entirely tied to Jared Goff at this point. Goff has to be good. If he ends up being a one hit wonder they can't move on without a 51 million cap hit next year
Goff was on a rookie contract when the Rams made the Super Bowl and his cap hit was 7.6 million. Next year, Goff's cap hit is 36 million. That extra 29 million would pay for a few more players. Because of the way they structured the contract, Aaron Rodgers' cap hit next year is 22 million.
Also, Goff, Gurley, A. Donald, B. Cooks, and J. Ramsey will cost the Rams almost 110 million against the cap next year (53 percent). Of that group, I'd say only A. Donald is a superstar.
I know I’m in the minority here and I don’t mean to criticize those who care about these things, but I could give a rat’s ass about these type of individual honors. Coach of the Year, MVP, Rookie of the Year, etc. I get it when it’s a contractual financial benefit for a player, but as a fan I could care less if my team’s players and coaches get recognized with awards. Just win games and hopefully championships. That’s all that matters.
Well, at least they cannot deny MLF's qualifications for Coach of the Year on the fact that Rodgers carried the team. It seems this year they won several games despite Rodgers!
MLF is in rarified air. Rookie HC in the NFC Championship Game. 14 wins in his first year.
I'd rather he not win it.
Nate Burleson on NFL Network this morning said....."My wife turns to me & says...'Did you see the way Rodgers & LaFleur looked at each other when they hugged?!?!?' They have something special & nobody believes but the people in that locker room."
Nate's wife of 17 years noticed this.
Worst NFC Championship Game participants in the 💯 year history of the NFL.
Keep it Ugly 😁

O’Brien decides to kick the FG on 4th and 1 inside the KC 20 then decides to run a fake punt on his own 30.
But the moment I said to myself, “Self, this guy is gonna get broomed” was in the 4th down by 11 with 10 minutes left with 4th and 4 on the KC 38 yard line and he sends in the punt team. Thinks it over for a minute. CALLS A TIMEOUT. Puts the offense back on the field and runs a trash play. Ballgame.
Bill O’Brien is in way over his head.

He's a cocky version of Mike Sherman. Not good.
i think mlf was #2 - shanahan was the best coach this year, sf had no business of being the 1 seed and beat up on a lot of teams, they have talent but so did cleveland.

Three different Bear's coaches...hard to believe. Can't believe Coach Kick-ass wasn't in that group.
????
The Niner defense has (7) 1st round picks on it. SEVEN! They've drafted in the top of the draft for the last decade.
This is his 3rd year coaching the team. They sucked for the first 2 years.
Lost to Seattle in OT. Hammered the Packers. Beat the Saints in an ultra close game, lost to the Ravens on a last second FG. Nobody has ever faced a stretch like that in NFL history. 4 straight playoff teams with 2 of them on the road. That's brutal.
SF is definitely the #1 seed for a reason. They earned it.
SF was without Garapolo last year. The result of that was being able to draft Bosa and Samuel. Those two rookies have put that team over the hump.
A lot of people were picking SF to be their surprise breakout team last year based on the roster they already had. So it shouldn't surprise many that this year, with Garapolo and the added talent, that they would be very good.

So they're gay lovers. NTTAWWT, of course.
17 years? Did Nate marry her when he was a teenager? He's not that old!
He's late 30's, maybe even 40. Viks drafted him in '03 I think.
Considering the names on that list, hope he doesn't get named Coach of the Year.

Titans were 2-4 to start the season. Vrabel had the gumption to bench there franchise QB in place of jag and the team went 7-3 down the stretch. Don’t know if playoffs are considered in the voting. If so, he should get serious consideration.
No, it's a regular season award.
Probably not a sexy enough pick. Harbaw or Shenanihands will get it.

Cleveland doesn't have close to the talent that SF has. That defensive front is as good as there has been since the fearsome foursome IMO. And they've spent tons on it. Used three first rounders, 2 top 10s, the 17th and traded for the 23rd pick in the 1st Dee Ford.
Cleveland has nothing like that front.
And besides Lombardi in 1959 only one other Packers coach has won coach of the year - Lindy Infante in 1989. So maybe LaFluer keeps the streak alive, every 30yrs.....
Anyone else read this thread title as "MiLF will get the shaft..." ?

I'll ask my wife.
Or ask Keil's 3 wives.
I got 1" for each of 'em!
I just spent too much time trying to figure out what that means because I don't think it means what I think it means. Am I wrong?

Immediately - @Chongo knows what he's doing
It does not mean what you think it doesn't mean.
NOT a fan of Steeler HC Mike Tomlin. But he did get his team to 8-8 with no Ben Roethlisberger no Le'Veon Bell and no Antonio Brown this year. Thats coaching.
That said MLF has been excellent, especially considering he's a first-time HC and got to NFC Champ Game etc etc.
Tomlin had next to nothing to work with on offense by end of the season. And D still needs a few pieces but it's close.
Blair Kiel posted:I got 1" for each of 'em!
And they are both angry.
The PFWA has selected @Ravens head coach John Harbaugh as the 2019 NFL Coach of the Year, @49ers GM John Lynch as the Executive of the Year and @Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman as the Assistant Coach of the Year.
