Nash probably won't admit it, but he's probably the happiest guy in the NBA right now.

Kyrie makes Aaron Rodgers look sane.

Ben Simmons went from this

to this in less than 2 years at age 26.

Kevin Durant is averaging 33 points on 53% shooting from the floor and they still can't win.

After trading for Harden and then trading him to the Sixers, the Nets have gotten Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and the Sixers picks in the 2023 and 2027 drafts for

The Nets first round picks in 2022, 2024, and 2026 and pick swap options to the Rockets in 2021, 2023, 2025, and 2027.  In addition the picks, they gave up Jarret Allen, Caris Levert, T. Prince, and R. Kurocs,

If the Rockets could end up with Wembanyama off the 2023 Nets draft pick it would make one of the worst series of transactions in NBA into far and away the worst series of linked trades in NBA history.

The Nets continue to be a complete joke.  You would think they would have learned their lesson by trading 3 first round picks for a washed up KG and Pierce (not to mention another round 1 pick swap).  Those picks basically built the current day Boston roster.

Then there’s the Harden deal and return back with Simmons.  And all the picks and players involved.

I can’t imagine a 15-20 year run of bad decisions worse than the Nets.  In fact, you could argue it’s the worst series of personnel decisions in pro sports history.

The problem is who would want him?  It’s bad enough he takes games off but then you have all the other baggage (like his idiotic beliefs and statements) to go along with it.

I mean, Russ Westbrook can’t shoot and makes some poor on court decisions but at least he shows up and plays hard and tries not to intentionally piss off or alienate teammates.  Kyrie does it and couldn’t care less about the consequences.

Just goes to show talent isn’t everything.  Kyrie is probably a top 15 player in the league but he’s selfish, misguided, arrogant POS otherwise.  He’s a chemistry killer.

He might be the best one-on-one player from a guard position I've ever seen. Curry is a better shooter, but the combination of outside shooting and the ability to finish at the rim is almost unique for a guy 6'2"

He's likely a first ballot HOFer and has already won a ring.

However, like you said, ever since he left Cleveland (because he was tired of playing in LeBron's shadow), he's killed the chemistry of every team he's ever been on.

You know that when a guy like James Harden gets sick of you for not putting enough effort in, you really have to be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Iverson is the only guy in my lifetime that was as quick off the dribble and could finish like Kyrie.  Difference is AI really couldn’t shoot.

Iverson could be a lot to digest but the guy competed almost as hard as anyone not named Magic or Giannis or Kobe.  Kyrie has no heart and his effort and commitment to team is JR Rider like.

You are right in that it says a lot when a guy like Harden looks good and displays solid work ethic compared to that flake wearing the 11 jersey.

The other thing is that Iverson was generally not hated by his teammates. First, he fell out with LeBron. Then, it was Tatum and Jaylen Brown. More recently, James Harden.

I'd put Isiah Thomas (Pistons version) above Iverson. Isiah was the best combination of playmaking and getting his own shot at the rim of any point guard I've ever seen. Kyrie's moves around the basket remind me of Thomas' and Isiah could have probably averaged 30 a game if he'd have played more selfishly. As it was, he was averaging 22 with 13 assists back when the rules and style wasn't in the favor of the quick guards like it is now.

Zeke was really good, no doubt about it.  He and even AI played mostly at a time when defenders could hand check and grab without the foul being called.   So their numbers are more impressive IMO.

The Nets are royally screwed no matter what happens.  Kyrie’s trade value took a huge hit.  If you allow him to come back he won’t be as effective.  Simmons is uninterested or hurt.  Durant is still Durant but he ain’t winning anything there.

A dumpster fire doesn't do justice to what the Nets are right now. Even worse, it's probably only going to get worse.

They are paying a combined 71 million to two players that no one else in their right mind would trade for. No one should be surprised at Kyrie, even if you remove all the politics of the vaccines and the anti-semitism, the guy refused to say the earth wasn't flat a few years ago.

Ben Simmons now has "knee soreness."

Another guy making 18 million a year has played 20 games since the end of the 2021 season (Joe Harris). Simmons has played 6. Irving has played 37.

They better hope they can get something when the inevitably trade Durant, because if they don't, they are going to be awful for a decade. They don't control their own first round pick until 2028 (either traded or tied up in pick swaps).

If KD would go down at this point, the Nets might not come within 40 points of an y other NBA team. They might be a 20 win team with him.

At some point, the NBA has to step in and do something.

Simmons is guaranteed 78 million dollars over the next two years.

When Irving departs after this year, they are over the salary cap so they won't even get space to sign someone else. Unless someone rescues them with a trade for Kyrie so they at least get cap space back in the form of other players, they don't really have any way to improve. They could be a 10-15 win team for the next 5 years.
