NFL competing for those March Madness bucks.
The NFL has waived all home-market blackouts in week 17. Everyone gets doubleheaders on both CBS and Fox.
Wow. Thomas must've blown it big time in prep this week.
@kentsomers: Bruce Arians uses the "quick hook" with Logan Thomas. Will go back to Ryan Lindley as starter for Sunday's game, per source.
Logan Thomas is so horribly inaccurate.
Too bad they don't have Matt Flynn.
Then again, they still have a chance.
The difference in seeding is significant and they don't get much bigger in the regular season than Sunday. QB is where the gap between the two teams is biggest and what Lions fans are unwilling and/or unable to accept is that Stafford is much closer to Jay Cutler than he is Aaron Rodgers.
His history is that if you can rattle him he'll put the ball up for grabs and I see that continuing on Sunday at Lambeau.
@RapSheet: Sources: #AZCardinals QB Drew Stanton had arthroscopic surgery to fight an infection. Heโs recovering, but may be done for the year.
@RapSheet: #AZCardinals QB Drew Stantonโs infection was discovered Wednesday, believed to be caused by an outside medical treatment. Status in doubt.
@RapSheet: Prior to infection, Drew Stanton (MCL sprain) was recovering well. May be done now. This explains switch to Ryan Lindley โ prep for playoffs
Sad what happened to Arizona this year. Hope TT follows McGinn's advice and gets a QB high in the draft (third round?) as I don't think our current backups are much better than what Arizona has been trotting out there.
That #1 seed lookin better and better. Either get one of the junk from the NFC South or a battered Cards team down to a 3rd string QB
And play the Seahawks at Lambeau instead of up there.
That Buffalo game was huge.
Go Rams.
Don't you get it? You should WANT to go there and get revenge!!!1!
Follow the NFL, stop being such a sissy, and drink up!

We are snakebit this year. I was hoping to never see Lindley play again. Imagine if the Cards signed TOG and had a playoff game in Lambeau?
I have to think that option was floated to Bus who ran it by Bert. If Bert hadn't already started his personal 2015 Packer HOF Jersey Retirement Return To Lambeau World Tour I'd bet he'd sign up with AZ right now.
Too bad they don't have Matt Flynn.
The human victory cigar?

I agree.
Except for the part about wanting to go there.
Dallas gets tiebreaker with Seattle if both lose. DOESNโT get it if both win, unless GB/Det tie. Weird situation.

Favre is not going to play for any other team. Somewhere behind the scene Bart Starr (or someone) may have had a sit down with him and laid it all out for him (Favre). At least I think I detect different words and actions from a certain interview to now. Assuming he really is trying to mend fences, for him to appear in anything other than a GB uniform is out of the question - especially if he has any possibility of playing the Packers. And all that assumes he thinks he is physically up for it - which I doubt.
As for GB I think Tolzien may be the better option than Flynn, He has a stronger arm and has shown in preseason that he knows the offense now. Without knowing much he had a 300+ yard game last season.
To say GB #2 QB leaves a little to be desired, consider this - no NFL team has starting caliber QB sitting on the bench - much less a really good one. In fact about half of the NFL teams might consider changing starter QBs this off season. If there are not enough really good starting caliber QBs in the NFL for every team to have one, what do you think the #2 positions are populated with? A few things have to come together for any QB to make it in the NFL. But what makes some teams keep looking is that at the first sign of trouble, the QB is yanked from the lineup ( Austin Davis in StL comes to mind). The concept of development is a foreign concept in some NFL cities. Even when they do stick with a guy, some of those have to learn it on their own. When Rodgers got on the field briefly in his first 2 years in the NFL he was nothing special. It was in his 3rd year he started to show what he would become.
As for this game. I want GB to do their part and win vs the Lions. After that I will see what happens in the rest of the NFL and hopefully more things fall GBs way.
Most backup QBs today are awful because they are the second or third tier guys coming out of college. Most of the really good QBs come out of college earlier than they have in the past, and because they are first- or high second-rounders they are expected to play right away. Almost all of them succeeded in college more on athletic ability than brains, and in the NFL a QB needs more brains. Guys like Locker, Tannehill, Bridgewater, Bortles, et al, are forced to start before they should. Those guys would benefit from a year or two on the bench, doing mop-up duty, and leading the scout team. If those really good QBs out of college were backups now, fans would have more hope if their starter goes down, especially later in the year.
It's tough to tell how good many of these guys could have been, or would be, if they had been brought along slower rather than forced to learn on the fly. No matter what the young guys say, it has to be a blow to a guy's ego to be faced with stuff they aren't prepared to deal with week after week, including the media, fans, etc. A few adjust; many don't.
What it also shows is just how special a guy like Luck is to come out and immediately make a huge impact.
