This is from an Agent (Jack Bechta).
Guess who is #1? and also a surprise in the top 5.

I was going to post that in the Finley thread but F it, it deserves it's own thread.
And actually, 2 of those teams surprised me.
And 1 of them mentioned is a TT tree branch.
Nice find, interesting that #2 is a GB guy. Also, that the Queens are up on that list is surprising. I wonder if/when they do this again, if OAK doesn't move up the list?
Not sure being in a club with the Vikes, Jags and 'hawks is a good thing....
There is no correlation to being a trusted team and being a good team. While I like seeing the Packers listed as a trusted team, it isn't as if they deal with a lot of free agents compared to other teams. Their primary contacts are with agents of their draft picks, re-signing their own players, and signing players off the street.
I guess the phrase, "Packer People" starts at the very top.
The Mighty Green Bay Packers sign:
High draft picks
middle draft picks
low draft picks
undrafted players
free agents that are both restricted and unrestricted
In the summer they have 90 players under some sort of contract just like every other team and in the fall they have 53, just like every other team
PB - What is it that you're trying to say about "other teams" free agents?
Every one of the Packer players has a contract, an agent and a negotiation. And those negotiations were well handled in a trustworthy fashion per Jack and his ilk
Are you suggesting that the Packers would behave differently if it were a player from another team ? Would they suddenly become less trustworthy because the player was from someplace else ?

What is it Hershel??

I am suggesting that negotiation for draft picks, where salary and length are practically predetermined, and bottom of the roster players, who basically get league minimum, is different than negotiating for a big-name free agent.
False lies and propaganda.

Thanks PB, there are obviously different situations, but I can't believe a team would be trustworthy on Tuesday and dishonest on Thursday. That makes zero sense to me
I think its also interesting to note that one of the other teams listed in the top 5, Seattle, previously had Thompson in charge and now his protege John Schneider is calling the shots. I don't think that's a coincidence and I suspect that KC and Oakland will follow suit soon enough
The Packers treat their players and their agents very well. The GM used to be a player and former front office guy Andrew Brandt used to be an agent.
The injury part speaks loud to me. We all kid about the packers holding guys out too long or not being truthful to the press about how bad a guy is hurt. ( ala MM saying a week which turns into a month). Some teams may rush a guy back before he is ready, but not the Packers.
Here is an article about ILB Robert Francois and his decision to return to GB on a one year deal. Interesting comments from his agent, who apparently trusted the Packers to keep their word about his chances to compete for a spot :
