The NFL wants all fans patted down from the ankles up this season to improve fan safety.

Previously, security guards only patted down fans from the waist up before gaining entry to NFL stadiums. Under the new "enhanced" pat-down procedures, the NFL wants all 32 clubs to search fans from ankles to the knees as well as the waist up.

This is a crock of crap.

Two zip-lock Glad bags. You pour the pint into one and seal it, then put it another one and seal the second one. Then it can go anywhere: down the pants, jacket lining, or duct-taped to your gut or back. Guards can pat right on it and not suspect a thing.

(Old UW Madison trick)
I guess I don't understand how this is enforceable. All the articles I've read on it say the same thing: it is the NFL's "recommendation" that this be done.

Or what?

The articles all say they are "recommended guidelines." The articles then say the NFL "requests fans be patient" and blah blah blah.

You know, they are making a sh*t-ton of money off of us, do they really need to insist on any search procedures? Why not let us assume our own risk, since we're the ones making them filthy freaking rich.

Had a blast at the last game, but the 45 minute line to get in was a real buzz-kill.

I hope stadiums tell the NFL to go blow snot on this one.
Sure it's a joke but you can't please the masses. If thorough pat-down searches take place, people will be screaming about how their rights have been violated or whatever.

If no searches take place and an incident happens involving a weapon, the same people will be screaming about how nothing was done to protect their security.

Look at the incident that just happened with a TASER. You can clearly hear somebody ask how the person got into the stadium with a weapon, especially on 9-11.

The bottom line is most people don't want to be subject to proper pat-down searches for various reasons but by God they want a safe environment...just don't **** with me to get the job done.

The end result is what we have seen at NFL stadiums over the past few years. Half ass pat-downs just to say it was done... but the reality is a guy could walk into Lambeau Field with a gun without any trouble at all.

All because of a hillbilly taser toting Dallas fan.

Need to dig up the "Why I hate the Cowboys" thread and move this into the top 5 reasons.

the above in spades.

this may be true but quit writing about it. the ultra reality is that a person could walk into ANYWHERE with a gun without any trouble at all. you wanna get frisked before you walk in the super market? might as well - people are gathered there and we must be safe safe safe! you want to go to a movie? gotta get frisked and scanned - it's a gathering of people. as for me, it's a crazy world and you cannot guarantee safety. roll the dice, use your wits and take your chances. the ride is over either way in a pretty quick manner.

Coach, they have you remove your hat because they learned from concerts that after they started frisking everything else people started stashing their stash under their hat.

I hope, HOPE, that cooler heads prevail at Lambeau.

I must have missed all of the petitions circulating and demonstrations going on in protest of all the shootings taking place inside stadiums the last 10 years.

Living under a rock I guess.

Meanwhile, you're full of crap.
