....it's time to concentrate on Badger basketball.

In the next 4 games the Badgers host Illinois on the 12th, travel to Indiana on the 15th, at Iowa on the 19th, and host MSU on the 22nd. They need to go 2-2 during this stretch. I think the best chance at wins are at Iowa and home to MSU. I think Bo will find a way to give Illinois a good battle too.

If the last two games are any indication, they're going to grind games out now. They obviously do not have the horses to try to pick up the tempo, and they can't try to play better teams straight up. Kill the tempo, get some shots to fall, see what happens. They have the bigs to bang, so a grinder tempo will help. As the younger guys get used to BT ball, the scoring might improve

But it's time to grind... Ain't nothin pretty about what we're going to see from here I think.

Bruesewitz, who suffered a gruesome right-leg injury in October and suffered a concussion last month, did not go down because of another injury Thursday.

However, the senior forward missed a few minutes of practice after taking a fastball to the groin, courtesy of teammate Duje Dukan.

Dukan tried to save the ball from going out of bounds and threw it back in play toward Bruesewitz.

Bruesewitz, standing near the baseline, had no time to react and fell to the court after absorbing the hit.

“That was not fun,” Bruesewitz said after practice. “I knew it was going to hurt. It didn’t hurt right away.

“I looked up and I said: ‘This is going to be really painful.' "

As Bruesewitz was down on all fours off the court, UW coach Bo Ryan tried to lighten the mood.

With UW set to host Illinois on Saturday, the scout team was wearing blue jersey tops Thursday.

Ryan surveyed the situation and yelled out: blue ball.

The grin on Ryan’s face, and on the faces of his players, was priceless.

“I couldn’t resist,” Ryan said.
Really a nice team to watch. Lots of effort and you never know who will come up big.
I'm watching Marquette tonight. 1st time this year. They play a different type of BBall than the Badgers. I hesitate to use the word but they look like a bunch of thugs out there. I don't see a lot of Team. I wonder if they played again this year if the result might be much different. Brusser was out first game. Dekker and Jackson were green rookies.
